Curtain height with two different height windows?
Comments (10)Will you ever be closing the drapes? Are both wall heaters set back from the window edge like the unit on the right wall? Are the heating units water or electrical? If the heaters are set back from the window edge, I'd hang full length panels if you aren't going to draw them closed. And if the heaters are water there is very little chance of fire, altho heat output will be affected/redirected by drapes. Yes, you want the rods the same height, and if you choose to go with shorter drapes, make them the same length along the bottom. The window sill on the right looks to be a little lower so, IMO, the bottom of the drapes on the left should be the at the same level as the drapes on the right....See MoreDifferent window heights in old house
Comments (3)I'm not sure I can give you good advice, but I'll be interested to see what others suggest, because I have a similar issue in a room that was formed from combining two different rooms in my old house. Am I understanding correctly that the ceiling height is actually different on your different window walls? I'd think that if all drapes are hung at the ceiling and all go to the floor, that's probably as much visual consistency as you can hope for, but if the ceilings are the same height all around and just the windows vary, then you might try to establish a common height for the curtain rods all around the room. Could you post a picture?...See More1 Window 2 Curtain Rods Different Heights?
Comments (5)Unfortunately, the french doors don't have enough of a "lip" to mount anything inside the actual door. Hence my idea to put the rod just above, even grazing the top of the door frame/molding. The rod for the panels is mounted wide, and the panels are pulled open 90% of the time, so you'd never see the white rod where it extends past the doors. I wish I could photoshop something but it'd probably be faster to mount the rod in real life than for me to photoshop something!!...See MoreWindow seat drape/curtain dilemma! Please help!
Comments (4)Thank you so much for weighing in! The window seats will be on each side of the TV wall under the windows shown in the above picture. :) So, other than the picture window on the far left (shown in original post) there are no other small windows with panels. This said, you have helped me so much! I will do cornices over the three small windows to match the material for the picture window decorative panels!! Phew!! I am so glad I came here to ask because I was about to finalize a quote for these panels that clearly would have been all wrong! Also going to make sure panels anywhere in house reach the floor since I just learned my 1” above floor is too short. Haha...See MoreFairway Style Living
