Comments (8)So are we all. Sometimes leaves alone, are not enough. Could you please provide some info as to what state/area you live in, whether you are country or suburban, if the plants seem to be trees or shrubs.... and if you could, some shots of the actual things in situ would be great to get an idea of scale....See MorePlant Update, New Acquisitions, and ID Request. Comments (7)Nice group you have there, Andrew! The unknown tagalong is a Kalanchoe (previously Bryophyllum). Somewhat young to tell species, but could be delagoensis or x houghtonii. You might want to keep it separate from your other succulents as it grows or the plantlets from its leaf edges will drop in pots (or the ground), growing in unwanted spots. If your Pleiospilos spent bloom is mushy, it's most likely not going to make seeds. I'd remove it...also checking the soil, see if too wet. Do you keep all your plants in the house? If so, near a sunny window? They seem to be happy with the care you're giving them. :)...See MorePlant ID request
Comments (11)LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence, Amester, but I'm afraid the encyclopedia seems to be missing a few pages in this case! I looked at the pic the first day Jim posted it, and have been thinking about it ever since, and still don't have a clue what it is! The flowers look like two or three different things I can think of---but the leaves don't match any of them! I was sorta hoping Dan might show up to have a look at it. He's really good at identifying things too. While I'm here I'll ask a question! Is it a perennial--comes back year after year, or is it an annual--planted this spring and will die when it freezes? if it's an annual, that would explain why I don't recognize it. If something suddenly pops into my head, I'll be back, but at this point I'd say don't count on it! But I really hope somebody around here knows what it is, 'cause I'll keep wondering about it until I, hopefully, find out what it is! If nobody here on RMG can identify it in the next several days you might want to try posting it on the Plant ID Forum--or whatever they call it! And if you do manage to get it identified somewhere else, I'd really appreciate it if you came back here to let us know what it is! It sure is pretty! Skybird...See MorePlant ID Request
Comments (17)These flowers are tiny. I have no clue what plants 3 and 4 are. We are letting 2-4 grow in the community garden bed for now; I'd hate to get rid of it only to find that it's something useful. I told my mom I knew 2 wasn't a weed but I wasn't sure about the others. Then I told her I'd ask my gardening friends online and they would probably know!...See Moreroselee z8b S.W. Texas
