Counter top, rug, paint choices...please help
Comments (4)I think it is fine that the rug and countertop are not the same pinks. Too much matchy-matchy and the rooms lose depth and interest. Rather than overload on pink, I think it would be nice to pick a pale green for the whole space. It will help your pinks stand out. Or depending on how much wall space you have in the kitchen, you could do a paler shade of green there and a deeper shade of the same family in the DR. Look to the leaves in the rug for help. Think about roses and peonies in artwork, cranberry and burgundy glassware, drapery in a rich plaid or floral that incorporates the pinks and greens...See MoreWhite kitchen Counter Choice
Comments (8)I think if you can find the right river granite it will work, but compared to white, it may look cream or beige or just too dark. But I have seem some beautiful ones, just not at any of my granite yards. I like the idea of a soft light gray quartz. Lyra was high on my list before I found my quartzite. I think it is very pretty. Maybe artificial but have you seen these pics? I think it works well. https://www.houzz.com/photos/woodale-designs-kitchen-dublin-phvw-vp~278639-Designs-kitchen-dublin https://www.houzz.com/photos/silestone-lyra-countertop-traditional-kitchen-new-york-phvw-vp~1842720-lyra-countertop-traditional-kitchen-new-york I think misty carrera is beautiful too. Comments (8)I've been working on just the right white for months, and have many, many painted samples! What I have found is that the color looks different in EVERY room, so what works for some here, may not work for you! My kitchen is really sunny and bright, I found BM Simply white stark. I really like BM white dove & SW Alabaster, and find them very close to the same color, with a same hint of a gray undertone. I am afraid though... that it may still read stark white in my kitchen. I have SW Pearly white on my walls now... from the chip, it is much darker than I would have picked, but I picked this because SW color matched it from a cabinet sample I liked. I have a whole wall painted, and sometimes it looks perfect, just a soft off white, other times it looks a bit dingy. I'm leaning a bit more to SW Creamy (it matched another cabinet). White and yellow.. two very hard colors to chose, but I think you need to get samples and see large size samples in your space. The colors change dramatically from one room to another!...See MoreHelp with kitchen counter-tops is really needed...
Comments (42)for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous. They are probably not super cheap, but it would be worth it for me. http://www.miusartmosaics.com/arabesque-lantern-beacon-copper-tile-in these would also work. the site is here: maybe they have them in stock.http://www.westsidetile.com/arabesque-tiles/ i like this one too. notice the copper faucet. beautiful w/the glass mosaic. if you got the cream countertop, this would look amazing w/your floors. this last one is a copper colored slate/quartzite....See MoreABC
