Need Help: Delicatus White Antique or Alaska White Granite
Comments (27)CL777, totally understand... your kitchen is not small at all, its bright, airy and open, very nice.. i still think you should bring a sample of your cabs to put up against any stone u choose...it really will help u decide... my advice to you and anyone trying to pick granite is: You will know it when u see it.!!! i did the same thing and looked at least 30 slabs if not more..some i really liked but i just could not pull the trigger, i just didn't LOVE it. and when u are spending that much money, you better love it. .when i saw mine, magma gold/sedna (2 names for same stone), i knew that was it, i did not want to look anymore. the counter guy wanted to take me to another slab yard and I said "nope, this is it"....trust me, u will know!!! another thing i did which really helped me decide is put a incandescent light up against the stone.. you really get the true colors of the stone. with fluorescents you don't.. that's if you are in an indoor slab yard, of course... bring your cab sample, paint sample, floor sample and anything else u have because it will all help u decide!! best of luck, i know its a tough decision :)...See MorePaint Emergency! SW Alabaster, Snowbound or Pure White?
Comments (15)did anyone consider SW origami? My walls are SW light french gray and family room, BM nimbus gray. I just painted my fireplace brick simply white, but it's too cold w/a hint of yellow...Origami is on my staircase kick plates/trim and it looks nice, but is very creamy. I want an off white with not too much yellow, pink or brown and I'm having a hard time...I may lighten the SW Origami by 15 to 25% and go with that. Any advice? I'm also doing my kitchen cabinets with whatever I choose for the fireplace/trim...See MoreNeed help - cabinets (not white) with Alaska White Leathered granite
Comments (3)I think you need to take a trip to the home improvement store and check out the stain color options and see if there's something you like there. I googled the Minwax chart for oak and came up with two that might suit you, Provincial and Special Walnut. Or Chestnut from the gel stain list: There are lots of options that would go nicely with your granite and your floors. About half way through the life of our last cabinets (they were about 40 years old at tear-out), I refinished them with a stain and gave them a coat of polyurthane. It came out very well....See MoreZurich white, Greek villa or snowbound?
Comments (11)We love Zurich white. It is soft and rich looking, but not creamy. Still looks white, not supercrisp is all. It looks light grey sometimes with cool light, and a bit warmer other times. I have pure white too (Painter used it to prime) but that does not look good in my space; it reflects green in our space as we have lots of greenery outside, but I’ve seen it in more neutral spaces and it looks good, not as rich and cozy, more modern. To to the right of the door is Zurich white. To the left and over the the door is pure white. Ceilings are pure white....See Morealyssa987
