My 1976 built home, has 5 rooms that has radient heat coming from ceiling. These rooms have its individual wall mounted thermostats which I want to replace with digital thermostats.

The old thermostat have thick black/red wires, so do I buy a 120V single pole thermostat to replace the old ones.?

I also have a den with a electric baseboard heater that has rating 240V/ 1500 Watts.

Looks like , I must consider the maximum watts a thermostat can handle if replacing a electric baseboard heater. For eg: I probably should pick a thermostat that can handle 1500W.

Should I consider 'maximum watts' for radiant heat ceiling thermostat replacement.

Thanks!
