Please help me make this kitchen/dining room layout work!
Comments (10)Sena I absolutely love the pantry idea. Right now our pantries are actually two closets 20" deep (I couldn't show it correctly in the planner) so that aisle is only 38" which is fine most days but when we have people over and they stand around the island it feels very crowded. I actually was planning on doing a beverage/wine fridge under the counter where the coffee bar is. When we are entertaining I thought it'd be nice to have a spot for the kids especially to grab drinks. I'm hoping to get a counter depth fridge because I really don't like how our current one stinks 9 inches into the isle. We are going to purchase a second fridge for the garage to make up for the lost space. I shop often enough that I think we'd be fine with counter depth. Do you think 33" is deep enough of an island to accommodate a sink? I love the idea of the prep sink on that wall... I just wasn't sure I'd have enough cabinets if I kept it and the window....See Morelooking to make my dining room and sitting room blend
Comments (11)Was your living room done by a decorator? It's beautiful but seems so impersonal. I would suggest a large carpet for your dining room in warmer colors than the living room, since the wall color is warmer. I would look for original art, not just some prints that look good, but rather something that touches your heart. Since the dining set is traditional you could also look for a mirror with an ornate frame. I wouldn't pick just traditional art, though, because the living room has a more transitional vibe. You can mix in drawings and watercolors, and more contemporary art....See MoreHelp deciding on pendant lighting over dining room table
Comments (2)I will say Edison bulbs are the most horrible lighting ever and there is areason they went the way of the dodo . I like good lighting that actually lights the table and the other thing with Edison buls is they cast a yellow glow on everything so colrs you love in the daytime become yucky at night. I need to see the rest of your home this is one space and needs to work with the others I am getting no feel for your style except for atable....See MoreLiving room make over help!!
Comments (7)Your fireplace would be fine with a large piece of art covering the wood planks. Or remove the bricks above the vertical design and place a simple mantle on the fireplace with drywall above. I'd keep your half wall. I don't see rails or glass improving that in any way. Your front door is beautiful. I'd try to find one type of flooring for your entry and carpet so you have better flow. Why not continue the hardwood you have? I'd put your budget into updating your lighting....See MoreRelated Professionals
