Comments (25)pattico - What a wonderful area! Love the combination of the past (grinding wheel) and broken bricks ... with your beautiful wicker, flowers, pillows and teapot...a lovely place to sit and relax. And your "save" of the broken wheel...that watermelon looks so summery/4th of Julyish...great idea! I leave old metal wheels, etc. uncovered in the winter around here...(ugh, not ready for that yet!) and they do fine...the plastic may make your piece rust more by holding in moisture...jsut a thought. Thanks for sharing. Jeanne...See MoreOne of my pride and joys!

Comments (19)Ray, the seeds did indeed arrive and my jaw dropped! I am truly overwhelmed by your generosity! I think there are around 50 seeds of eight different varieties in your package. How much fun can a girl have?!?! A million thanks for sharing this with me - I can hardly wait! It doesn't have to be sunny, or even daylight to plant seeds, right? I'm thinking about getting started tonight! I need to do some more reading - make sure I know what I'm doing - I think I read something about not starting seeds when rain is forecast and we have a monsoon in our forecast for the next several days... I have to read some more... Wunderground forecast for my area Carol...See MoreMy pride and joy
Comments (23)Stush the standard version of 'Asahi' is 'Golden Street'. I may have sent you one of those (or not) a few years ago. I no longer grow it. It is nice but no room and with all the variegation it does not get as tall as a normal standard trifasciata anyway and the leaves also stay much thinner. It is a nice plant in its own right though! Maybe someone here still grows it. I don't know if I have ever seen a "Forescate' version of hahni.......though some offsets of 'Golden hahni' may have come close. I love 'Forescate' but I have a hard time getting it through winter here....See More- 8 years ago
