I have owned the Casablanca Stealth Fan model 3211a (using the XLP-2000 motor with IntelliTouch control system model W62) for 4+ years now. It was performing without any problems until about two weeks ago. http://www.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=3211A It suddenly started to make a noise, which prompted me to speak to Casablanca, read the manual and etc. I followed their suggestions to tighten the nuts that hold the fan motor (located just below the canopy). They were not loose, so I decided to remove the light bulb, disconnect the electrical connection to the light and then finally the two aluminum plates (one of them being the Glass Holder and the other one - I will call it 2nd Plate from now on - which is between the motor and where the Glass Holder mounts on to with 3 screws. The photo attached shows a close-up of the what I am seeing. I have circled in GREEN color the spots where one can clearly see where contact is being made between 2nd Plate and the 5-segmented fan body. That is what I think was making contact, which created the noise. I decided to insert 3 millimeter spacers to increase the gap between the small duralumin mounting flange and the 2nd Plate (you can see the silver-colored flange where I circled in RED). This way, there would be more space between 2nd Plate and the 5-segment fan body. After putting everything back together, the fan ran perfectly fine and quite. After about 6 hours, unfortunately, the same noise re-started again. I then again removed everything and started to run the fan without any plates on it (just the way you see it in the photo). It ran fine for about 30 minutes and then a different but horrible noise started to appear. Imagine a train pulling into a station and hitting the breaks. That squealing sound is exactly what I am now hearing and I cannot figure out where and how it is coming from. BTW: The fan even with the noise is spinning at full speed and all speed controls are working. Two question that I have are these: Inside the RED circle, there is a small black pipe which is just below the silver duralumin mounting flange with the 3 screw openings, which hold the 2nd Plate. Could it be that the motor has somehow shifted upwards and has caused the small black pipe into contact with the 5-segment fan body? Also, how is the duralumin mounting flange fastened to the bottom of the motor? Please make sure you click on the photo (to make it bigger), so you can clearly see my color markings. I am really lost for answers and before spending money to call in an expert would like to know if any of you have an idea of what maybe is going on. Thank you!

I can't photoshop it for you, but what I did in a similar situation was print out and then make a reduce/enlarge copy of the photo of the light fixture I was considering and lay it on top of the elevation drawing of our kitchen since that was what I had at the time. The two small fixtures you linked look like hallway fixtures to me, and I would be afraid they would look out of scale with your table and dining area. I really like the last fixture you posted too, but it would look strange to me to be too high over the table. If it were me, I would wait until you get into the house, get furniture in place and then see how much the TV is blocked. The bigger issue for me is the sight line back towards the kitchen. I would still want to look at whether you could turn it 90 degrees so that you only have the 12 inches and not the 40 blocking that view both ways. It might also be far enough to the right of the TV not to block it. Maybe DH can love it that way? Just take your time -- you have lighting and it's past the point of having the walls open and not having to fix sheetrock or paint if you move something. I'm sure there are other things (like a move) that are more pressing. You'll get it worked out and it won't be the first time someone has moved in a house with something that didn't work perfectly. ;-)

I've always likes Mona's home. She has excellent taste. Have you tried painting a large poster board and taping it to the wall and leaving it a few days in all light? I narrow it down to a few colors and paint the foam board and move it around the room for a few days in the different lights of the day. I will tell you though. I have a terrible dislike to sage green. LOL. Also blue. It took me a LONG time to find a blue I liked for my laundry. I think it was my Mother's love for painting EVERTHING these two colors as a child and I swore to never paint anything these again. Ok so anyhow FF to my sister who just painted several room in her house Restoration Hardware Sycamore green. It looks *really* pretty. I would have her take a picture. She is so opposite of internet savvy it would be her mailing a poloroid to you in the mail. here are some I found online though FYI she had is mixed in Behr paint. Amina, West Indian, so know we know how color fills you life. Years ago there was a t v show, Treme (accent aigue) which took place in New Orleans, portraying the people’s trials and tribulations after Hurrican Katrina. One of the main characters was called Chief and all year he worked on his headdress, preparing for a yearly parade. It was pretty amazing to watch. Guessing he and his friends and family were West Indian?
