Sherwin Williams has 50 shades of white. Take a sample of your trim to the store and compare it to different shades of white. Most Sherwin Williams stores have a light box, so you can compare your final selections under different lights, since the appearance can change with the light. Take an hour or two to study the colors and make the decision. It’s a big expense to paint the cabinets and you will have to live with it for a long time. If you can’t make a decision, that is an indication that painting the cabinets is not the right thing to do at the current time.

@MarylandHomebody that's true about the shirt, but we painted our kitchen Simply White and it looked green. We were painting over the previous owners dark green so of course at first we thought it was that. So we primed and painted again and still green. I hated it. Eventually we went with Opaline the same color we'd painted in the living and dining room. It's the palest blue/green/grey color. I love it and it completely got rid of the ugly shade of green we were seeing that I eventually figured out was a result of our green evergreens outside. I wouldn't have wanted to live with that ugly pea/yellow green and am so glad we repainted and didn't just take somebody else's opinion that it looks good when I knew inside it did not look good to us as that's ultimately what matters.

I'm looking for a neutral gray/off-white with an LRV of 70-75 that doesn't read purple (many grays and grieges do!), blue, or pink. I don't want a throwback to "builder's taupe." And after seeing White Duck on the wall in my house, I'd definitely characterize it as tan. In photos online, it looks like a warm off-white with a hint of green. In my house, it's brownish beige. I might have liked it 20 years ago.

What ceiling paint (version of white) to use with sherwin Williams alabaster and pure white trims for my kitchen. My oak cabinets are being restained slightly darker to lessen the orange tones.
