I have no idea if this is a possibility, but have you checked to see if a contractor could sandblast the paint off? Even if small bits of it remained, maybe it would have an antiqued effect. You could seal the cedar shakes. If that does not work, I think that "block from the beach" factor is the deciding factor. maybe driftwood or sand dune or saltgrass color. I would keep the wrought iron railings, and just paint them if they look too stark with the new paint color. Door and shutters can be painted once you see how the house looks with its new paint job. It's a lovely lovely house.

I'm actually with your friend! love the dark w/your stone AND some type of cedar or redwood. i'm confused by your pictures. why do they look like two diff homes? If that's your landscaping, may I suggest quite a bit of pruning and cleaning up before doing the home? I can't even tell what I'm looking at! these are all dark w/cedar accents

Agree completely with above... The home looks just a pinch off white... does it lean gray... perhaps you took it from a google search and are not sure. Aesthetic White by SW is the first thing that comes to mind. Again, as mentioned above it's all about VERY hard to pick a color with monitors changing colors for those helping with suggestions....... sampling is your best option. Aesthetic White by Sw which I've used a lot is more white (has slight tan undertones by day) then as light dims the hue changes to an ever so slight gray. Yes, you need to sample. This brick home was painting Aesthetic White..... If you look at swatches on line of the color it looks light tan on a paper swatch or example of the color. It's not a light tan in person.... just has a tan undertone and falls fairly true until light dims and again.. a pinch gray. The undertones of gray are blue, green, violet and taupe.

We just moved into our new house and I do not like the exterior color choices at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not like how brown it is. Thoughts on what to change to brighten it up. My thoughts are to paint the brick in Ballet White. Thank so much!
