What type of succulent is this and what do I do with the babies?

I am definitely a beginner with succulents. We rescued a bunch from a friend's rock wall that was going to be demolished. I did some research and planted them in pots with gravel for drainage and succulent soil. It has been a couple months and they seem to all be thriving! But I'm not quite sure what to do with all the "babies" or new sprouts. I attached a picture of one that has a bunch of them, but I have maybe three more pots where this same thing is happening. Do I just let it go or should I try and replant them? How do I go about doing that?

Also I am having a hard time identifying what kind of succulent this actually is. The whole plant is green, the ends of the leaves don't get purple like a similar looking plant does. If anyone could help that would be great!

Those look like Sempervivums, aka hens and chicks. They are extremely hardy (zone 3 at least) and should be grown outside and where they have room for the offsets (the chicks) to spread and root, creating a colony. They will also develop their proper coloring if exposed to some direct sunlight.

There are several thousand named forms with a wide range of coloring. And all they need to thrive outside is well drained soil....a popular filler for rock walls but they will grow happily just about anywhere.

Is it potted in glass container without drainage hole? If so, I would repot ASAP. ..."Gravel for drainage"... - is that a layer in the bottom? It doesn't work well. Outside, in ground, rock walls, rock gardens, or in containers with drainage hoels, would be best location for them.

Isn't it amazing how different plants can look when grown under different conditions? I've beheaded and rooted and grown from leaves. Since I am terrible at marking what my babies are, I often get them mixed up. Here, I was in the process of beheading and replanting an area of Vera Higgins. Oops - looks like I couldn't tell the (now red) California Sunset from Vera Higgins when I planted them. So I quit trying to segregate the different colors - and wondered why I hadn't done that before. You can see lots of red California Sunset in the middle of this picture. And believe it or not, plant #1 is also CS that I propagated under different conditions. It will eventually match in color. Plants #2 are Vera Higgins. And if all these subtle differences give you a headache when trying to ID, the flowers will help confirm things. Vera Higgins has yellow flowers. And California Sunset has white flowers. So now that I've given you more than you asked for, I am happy to say that the preferred conditions is the same for both plants. Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you! It does look remarkably like Sempervivum tectorum! Picture from the Internet: http://worldofsucculents.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Sempervivum-tectorum-Common-Houseleek.jpg I guess I should give it more sun, it did look like it was stretching a little. I got it at the flea market, tilted the pot a little bit to tie my shoes, and the whole thing just fell out, roots and plant and all! :O Good thing it's tolerant to abuse.... It's going to be a bit hard digging out the oxalis plant. Maybe I'll keep it and move it to another pot, it looks quite cute right now. :)

Looks a lot like Sedeveria 'Harry Butterfield', but the part I circled looks like a different plant too me. Could just be the pic because it's small and grainy when enlarged;). The stem is so thick like a Pachyveria.
