Design Dilemma Furniture living room

Media storage advice

Hello! Looking to add storage furniture to our living room. Need help with style of furniture and placement. Our cables for tv come out on the right of our fireplace so thinking of placing a console under the window on the right of fireplace or a tall shelving unit on the adjacent wall, right next to the sectional. I've posted pictures of our room and furniture ideas. Any other ideas are welcome. Thank you!

You might consider adding a storage ottoman beneath each window as a window seat/storage combination.

like this one: the problem w/ this one is that it is not deep enough. Sorry the pic doesn't show any doors or shelves, it is a customizable cabinet from room and board and when i added the doors onto it i couldn't save the pic. But basically i want it to have one glass door on each cubby and a wood or glass shelf for each cubby (so we could hold 4 components) we prefer solid wood but are open to veneer because we are desperate. thanks!

Kathi - tv is staying where it is above the fireplace. Walls next to fireplace are about 30”, long wall where chair and lamp is 79”, space between couch and fireplace wall is 47”, and little wall where table and chairs were is 49” pics

Not a pro, but from what Ive read, the tv stand should be about 25% wider than the tv. A 65" tv is around 58" wide so a 70" stand is pretty close to that. We have a smaller tv sitting on a stand that is 26 " high, and the height for us is perfect.

If you need something about 8"-12" deep for your under window space, check out "benches" with doors in the front intended for entry hall shoe storage.

Are you DIY inclined? This is, essentially, a bench w/boxes on a lower shelf.

You could cut openings in the back of one or more of the boxes so you could store and use your media related items at the same time -- use screws to keep those boxes in place, accessible only from the back. The rest of the boxes that could be pulled out from the front could be toy boxes.

IMO you require a cabinet with a TV mount bracket so that you are able to swivel and tilt the TV as required.

Additionally, your sectional should be placed on the opposite wall in order to view the TV properly

Consider putting a small chest behind the sectional to hold toys. You do not want your children near the TV in order to get their toys. Recipe for disaster. Or purchase a storage ottoman in place of a coffee table to store toys.
