I have been trying to get the color right on this flower, and I think I finally did it. Whew. Scabiosa atropurpurea, 'Black Knight'. I try hard so that when it's cold and dreary outside, I can plan the next year's garden ;) I'm not ready for cold, but approaching it. I guess our rain today has me cooled down enough.

But DH says he would rather be pushing a lawn mower instead of this.

Ali, yes from seed. It's easy to find. Johnny Seed's and Select Seeds both sell it. Off the top of my head. I'm sure there are other places.

This was along Going to the Sun Rd in Glacier at the end of June. We were there for the first day the road was open for the season. They had 292 inches of snow last winter, so the road was very late in opening this year.
