Updating 2nd/hall bath in condo - suggestions needed
Comments (3)On the opposite side of that wall is the closet in the 2nd bedroom. I could easily cut the wall and drop in an access panel. That is more plumbing work than I feel comfortable doing myself. I like to experiment and learn to do things on my own. But since when I shut off the water supply, I shut off eight units in total, I don't want this to be a learning experience that inconveniences my neighbors for a long time. If I do that, it can wait until I do a complete remodel in my master bath and have a plumber here. I've got that planned for another year or two. Thanks for the tip though writersblock!!! And trtsmb, I do agree with doing a linen closet or hutch with a smaller vanity. But I need suggestions or pics for ideas. I'm not sure exactly what....See MoreUpdated updated aviary/entry hall
Comments (30)Here is the latest plan from the architect. I do think I am going to move forward with this and cut back on one other remodeling project in the house to help make up some of the cost difference. -The architect flipped the bathroom. -He extended the wall on the left, which will have a long window above. He left one slider to get the bikes out. I like the wall as it adds more privacy from the road/driveway. -He added a door out of the garage to the back yard. - He added 8" in width by moving the wall closer to bedroom 3, so now the room is almost 13'8". But I am thinking I might just move it back to 13'. -Now, do I want a slider where the parrot cages are with access to the backyard? I kind of think I do. I can see myself pushing them out there to clean them (although they are fairly easy to clean with Lysol/bleach wipes). I could see this as a dog room also for someone else with access to the backyard. As it stands now, I might put a fence as in the third pic, and let a dog use bedroom 3 with a doggie door to the fenced area. - Th ctr. Is suggesting a door in the six foot opening into the laundry to keep the AC separate. I have no idea what to put there. Thank you!!! :)...See Moreupdating hardware hallway cabinet knobs! help
Comments (9)This would be a great spot to do some fun/funky knobs! You could even pick a theme and do all different knobs. Anthropologie has some fun knobs. https://www.anthropologie.com/hardware Since you are on a lake ... is your DH into fishing? You could do an assortment of fish themed knobs. https://www.knobs4less.com/Novelty-Fish-Collection/fishcollection.html Life is too short for tiny boring knobs! :-)...See MoreOutdated hallway
Comments (5)Your choices are pretty limited if you don't want to paint or drywall (which I wouldn't do). On the blank wall above the laundry basket, I would add a large piece of art to add a focal point; something bright and colorful. You could add a runner over the carpet...not ideal, but easier than changing all the flooring if you removed the hallway carpet. Some rugs work better than others on top of carpet....See Moresburson01
