Solution for this opening other than a sliding barn door?

This is the combination powder/laundry room at our cabin. I’m planning a refresh. I can’t do a remodel at this time as we are doing some renovations on other parts of the cabin that are more pressing. So budget is limited. Maybe in a few years.

In addition to addressing the opening I plan to update the mirror, lighting and maybe replace the pedestal sink with a vanity. This room could also be painted as I have this same knotty pine in the entire rest of the cabin so wouldn’t miss the wood.

I’m not into a sliding barn door because the opening goes all the way to the ceiling so we’d have to build a header for the rail system. Plus I’m not sure a sliding barn door works with the log cabin aesthetic. In the pic, the (fake) window and towel rack on the right are no longer there.

Is a curtain the most logical, however cliche, solution?

We don’t want to frame in a door as the opening is a good size for removing the washer/dryer if needed at some point.

This is the basic layout.
