Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See More18x18 or 12x12 on the bathroom floor ?
Comments (20)Oops lillo, I made a mistake. My reno started on Monday, but moving quickly. They demo'd to the studs. Tub, drain and valves in, walls back up (except vanity wall), electrical done and tile is up on the long tub wall. This morning I am thinking of still going with the 12x12 brick pattern on the floor. I thought it would be too much pattern with the subway wall tiles, but the subway is only in the tub area and should be covered with a shower curtain (if my kids remember!). I took a few pics on my phone but have to get them on my computer. I have planned sand colored ceramic subway tiles with a sandy/concrete colored porcelain floor. Colonial cherry double vanity with a beige marble top. White Toto toilet and white sinks. I originally planned sconces, but because of a pipe in the way I can only use overhead fixtures. My goal today is to find robe/towel hooks. I empathize with you about your tile floor decision (other post). Selecting the tile was my most time consuming decision. Natural stone was not an option for me because of maintenance issues and well water staining. I would have loved to go with basic white subways, but am afraid of staining. Good luck with your tile search!...See More12x12 marble for vanity?
Comments (12)I don't know how to answer the budget question, other than, I have no idea!!! The entire process was to be the shower only and now we're thinking of the vanity top. I think the issues with purchasing slab is you have to purchase the entire slab and we won't need that much. The waster material will be more than the amount we need for the top. Hopefully I'm dash to the store today and look around. As for the grout line on the vanity I personally didn't think it would be an issue. Then again when I told one friend she thought it would he "a horrid" idea and my neighbor said "oh, thats what I want to do!" Not sure.........See MoreHoned vs. Polished Marble Bathroom Dilemma
Comments (3)I'm with Jewel654, have you looked at the porcelains? Here is a few that I was looking at. I went with the large one shown here in the center. Thats a pan of snow. The large tile is called Atlas Concorde, Marvel Calacatta Extra, and is from Italy. I chose the matte finish, and this sample is matte. I bought it through Nebraska Furniture Mart. They were very helpful and gave me a discount as well. The other tiles shown are a variety of other tile samples. The tile is ever so slightly warm and looks beautiful with my walnut vanity and woodwork in the bathroom that I finished this past summer:...See MoreRelated Professionals
