Contempo 70s - handle black trim and doors? window trim?
Comments (1)So I like where you are going. I would look at stain vs paint and one the is sheer enough to still see the wood grain. I love the idea of black but I would think of it more as an accent. So I would stain the beams, and any wood around the slat wall areas. I also like the idea of staining the trim around the doors vs the doors being black. (I included a pic of the door being black so you could see the difference) Also like the idea of black trimmed windows. I’d love to see something like a metal art piece above the fireplace vs. a mirror so that you can see the wood there. If at all possible, you really could use more lighting, especially overhead, if possible....See Moreshould I paint the trim around the windows black?
Comments (7)What a beautiful room … I would not turn that into a wall with a bunch of highly contrasting black boxes, no. It looks modern as is, with lovely touches of traditional, as well as very serene and cohesive. Everything flows well and the nice scenery is the star. Dark trim, imo, would look very disjointed in this room, and not in keeping with the style of home. I hope someone sees this that can do a mock-up for you, though. It always helps to get a visual idea. ETA: I do like the black touches around the room, though. Very elegant....See Moreblack windows. black vs white trim?
Comments (15)Here is my mock-up with two over one. I did one with the existing trim in red for clarity. It is almost non-existent. I see now you are going to add to the trim. The top of the bottom windows will have to be replaced too, because they are not wide enough. I agree with you that the trim should be white. The black seems heavy handed. Second picture with two black trim on the top left and two with white on the right. Lower level shows one of each. The trim I used was not wide. One other issue is what is the center window going to look like in black? Can you do a trim there?...See MoreBlack, white or no trim with black interior window frames?
