Finished Bathroom Pics (two bathrooms!)--very pic heavy
Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See MoreTwo different grout colors in one bathroom? Shower niche?
Comments (11)For some reason several notifications popped up today that I never knew were on this thread or a couple others. I thought it may be helpful to some who may read through this (and reassuring to those who were concerned) to see in first two photos the watertight way the shower was structured, then in last two photos are the colors of grout/what I ended up doing (per my original purpose of posting this question on Houzz) : ^^^This red/pink stuff is the waterproof material that was put all over the shower/in niche/etc before the tile went on. And as I had mentioned in prior comments, a large curb was always the plan as you will see in this almost-finished photo :) *Note: The unfinished window is a reflection and not actually in the shower Finally, for those who looked at this thread in search for answers to their own questions about grout colors, I went with Tec Dove Gray Sanded Powergrout on the floor and niche (wherever the hex was), and Tec Silverado Unsanded regular grout on the walls with Powerboost added (to make the unhanded grout a form of Powergrout) on the walls...choosing the lighter gray to soften the bright white so that it would work better with the warm white vanity. The Powergrout has posed no issues whatsoever in the last month since the shower has been used. We did seal the floors/walls for additional mold/mildew/stain resistance. This is a good representation of what the colors of tile and grout look like in reality...the Dove Gray appears a bit softer in person though....See MoreBathroom vanity mirrors; one or two and lighting
Comments (7)Thanks all or your input! I'm going with two. Two is what I originally thought but then fell in love with the PB Astor Double-Width Mirror (a 58" X 40 beveled mirror framed with beveled mitered pieces of mirror). It's the only large mirror that fit the idea I had in my head for how I pictured the space with "one large mirror", but it seems to have been discontinued on PB and there is no duplicate to be found (I even went to a glass store to see if they could make it and they cannot). So two mirrors it is. My base tile that was on backorder (giving me more time to work through all this) gets installed tomorrow so now I just have to figure out/order the lights....either overhead, or sconces that would be squeezed in. There will only be 6" of space next to the right-side mirror so I'm leaning toward overhead....See MoreHelp with bathrooms. Divide to two bathrooms or do one large bathroom?
Comments (15)I agree with Cpartist"s layout and like moving the closet over as suggested by D M so that bedroom 3 has easier access to the bathroom. Do you have room to have the toilet face the tub and add a linen cabinet next to the toilet? How wide is the tub toilet area?...See MoreBrit
