Comments (5)Great ideas @havingfun! Thank You! It's funny, we started physically moving some things around down there, and I'm starting to think the TV should indeed go on the far wall. I'm just worried about it creating a black hole at the end of this long room. Are you suggesting dividing the room into two sections? Like a TV section and a fireplace section? "face couch or appropriate chairs towards the tv. appropriate chairs or couch to fireplace" and then a rug in each section? I like Bohemian, vintage, rustic, industrial styles I think. I liked the first and third rug you suggested. Maybe light bright rugs and warm darker furniture? We really like the idea of leather sofa/s, like the kind with the nailheads. We have cats and friends, so any anti-stain, non-fur grabbing furniture is what we are looking for....See MoreFurniture layout with corner fireplace and odd angled room
Comments (1)I would advise you omit the loveseat in favor of a pair of chairs. If you get swivel ones then you'll have options for rearranging, and they'll be able to turn to TV no matter how the seating lays out. A three seat sofa and two chairs are one of the best bets for versatility. I think a game table in the nook can do double duty as a family gathering spot and as a homework area. You might try a settee or a bench in the nook with a table and 2-3 additional chairs. It could also serve as a casual dining spot. Here are a few charts to help you get things in order....See MoreHelp with living room with corner fireplace layout
Comments (6)I love having a corner fp. We always have a fire going during cold weather, and it’s nice having it next to the TV wall. Two focal points we can be facing. Makes for a very cozy seating area. :) Anyway, do you use those two accent chairs? If not, I’d relocate or sell them and get a longer TV console. Maybe something vintage? I’d center it/TV on the wall and hang art, put the plant on the right, etc. Then you could move the whole seating area towards the fireplace more. That’s how I have mine. Empty space between the TV console (a big old Jacobean sideboard) and fp, and art all around the telly....See Moregroveraxle
