What kind of floor with White Glossy Subway Tiled shower/bath?
Comments (6)My wall tiles are glossy white and subway-patterned but square; I used this limestone-look large format tile (in an offset/brick/running bond pattern) by American Olean, and I'm very happy with it. (And I thought I didn't like "faux" stone tiles, previously!) Other elements in the room include a natural stone vanity top (quartzite, like marble, in a rich grey/white with warm undertones). This floor looks great, feels really nice underfoot (especially with the radiant floor heat, mmmmm!) and hides dirt/hairs REALLY well ;) I linked the tile below, but mine isn't the 12x12 shown, it's 12" x 18" Here is a link that might be useful: American Olean's Costa Rei floor tile in...See MoreTile - Glossy vs. Matte
Comments (2)These days most porcelain floor tile is produced in a matte finish to make it a safer, less slippery surface. I did use a glossy porcelain in my formal powder room as it is only used by guests, no chance of water being on the floor and most of the guests will be wearing shoes. Some of my shower walls have glossy tiles and some have matte tiles, depending on the look/design I wanted for that space. For my backsplash I used a honed marble. I have large windows and was getting too much glare reflecting on my polished counters when I tested glossy tiles....See MoreBathroom tile - Glossy or Matte?
Comments (2)Doesn’t matter if the two baths have different flooring as long as the finishes within each room blend well. Glossy finish doesn’t always mean slick but do check that the glossy finish is ok for a room that will have water on floors at times....See MoreGlossy floor tiles and matte wall tiles in bathrooms
Comments (5)Design-wise, it just depends on how it looks. Usually it's shiny on wall, matte on floor. But it doesn't have to be. Show the tiles you're considering and...well, people will probably STILL ignore your request and keep saying it's too slippery and not answer your question (even though you are aware of that and I think it is safe to assume you will not use it if it is not suitable in that regard)... anyway show the tiles and see if that helps people decide. There are normal things that are done, and you're not doing it the "normal" way, but that doesn't mean that your particular choices don't work that way....See Moremae607
