If you love rockers, then definitely do rockers! I love the one in the picture you attached. Personally I would prefer black over white because your house has that warm ivory / beige and I think black would work better. But if you love bright colors, I think teal would be fun. Personally I would choose black because I love black and I like how it would correspond to your black stair railing. Also it makes me sad that you had to put "I don't need rude comments" in your title.

I would do a wood bench on the garage side, and maybe a little side table with a lantern or something. An urn for umbrellas? Or stack some firewood there? Don’t block the pathway to the garage door. Two wood chairs with a small table on the other side. Coordinating cushions and a larger doormat. Love the colors, but I’m not in love with the white garage door. Maybe paint it a lighter blue?

Looking at your porch, I am immediately drawn to the right side with white rockers - so fresh & inviting. My vote is white furniture, wooden or wood look. A small eating height table with chairs would be nice as you have the room for that. I do love the rockers but would leave them at 2 & make the rest of the chairs non rocker. If your porch is wide enough, & I think it is, a big wooden glider (moves back & forth) would be great placed at a right angle to house on left side & facing the front door. I’d add color with chair pillows that have the house color & white as major colors in the print. Big white & blue pots spaced around. Move the 2 small white pots to sit in a grouping with blue pot. Place 2 larger blue pots next to the step side of the columns, one on each side. No pots on steps. What a fantastic porch! I’d be out there all summer long.

Can you take a photo of the wall that has the stairs…the one people believe will be able to accommodate a huge TV for your family? This is a young family who has tried to create some storage for their young children by building the storage beside the fireplace. Perhaps you can add an additional shelf area above the book shelves that have been created, as Beverly has suggested? But, that said, it isn’t necessary to do so. The idea of a long sofa against the bay window is a lovely one. A large open area with a few chairs (swivel), an ottoman coffee table, space for children to play…. Imperatives for a young family!
