Need help with storage/open shelves in a Victorian kitchen

Hello! We live in a condo that takes up one long, narrow side of a Victorian brownstone. While the layout is fantastic for us, it turns out those Victorians didn't need much storage. The previous owners renovated around 2013, and while they put in two wall cabinets and two drawers on one side of the room, we're in need of more storage!

There's one space that seems ripe for a more efficient use: we have open shelves that we use for most of our dry goods and our dishes, and we've put an adequate hutch next to it (see picture below). We're thinking that with some kind of pull-out pantry where the hutch currently stands (and maybe a double-door cabinet centered above the pantry), we could increase the usable space. We're also thinking of putting double doors on the front of the open shelves (or maybe just the bottom four open shelves). Does anyone have ideas for improving the storage capacity and appearance of this part of the room? For reference, those open shelves are 3.5 feet wide and 2 feet deep -- so deep that we can't really reach the back of some of them, or the top shelf. It's very tall there -- the top of the top shelf is 8 feet high.

Thanks for your thoughts!
