How do you include photo in posting?
Comments (4)Bobbi, Phyllis from THS just told me the absolutely easiest (IMHO) way to post an image if you just have it stored on your computer: Go to Tinypic.com, click on 'upload', browse your files to get the picture, upload the picture from your computer and (the scanned photos have to be "Valid formats: jpg, png, bmp, gif, tif "). It will probably take a minute to upload. Choose the HTML file (the top string of code), not the IMG. Right click on that code, choose 'copy', and then: Come back to the forum you wish to post the picture in, type your message, THEN under your message, in the SAME box, right click and 'paste' that first line from tinypic.com Hit preview to make sure it 'took' - if not, try again. I just posted a picture of my Grandsons and their friend on the Kitchen Table site. There is also a test site on the main page here, that you can post a practice attempt....See MoreHow to include photos in a post (revised 7/19/11))
Comments (13)Another web place to host pictures is with your ISP. My ISP gives me free webspace as part of my account. Its not a ton of space and its not easy to see how much space is left with my ISP. Yours may vary. Uploading can be super easy. I had an FTP client built into my desktop (cuteFtp) that was integrated with Windows explorer such that I could right-click on the file and have an option to Upload to My webspace. (I had to pre-size by hand though.) Then when I upgraded my desktop, cuteFTP was no longer working and I never got around to figuring it out. I have other FTP clients I can use to move files there. Nearly as easy, but no right-click. Probably ISP webspace is not for the average user, but a potentially easy option for some....See MoreHow to include photos in a post (revised 9/19/11)
Comments (2)I've been running a thread on the Building a Home forum that substantially repeats this thread and refers to our FAQ. The issue of private versus public albums on Photobucket came up (I thought the whole album had to be public to allow you to link to it without a password). aa62579 says that you can link to a specific photo in a private album and that link will be visible. You just can't link to the whole private album and see it without a password. I've never used Photobucket so I'm asking the question of those of you who are familiar with sites such as Photobucket, Picasa, PictureTrail, etc.. Is this a general characteristic of all web-hosting sites? I'd like to add this information to the FAQ. Thanks, Claire...See Morehow do you post a photo from the web
Comments (37)dedtired, I must have known what you meant, because I didn't even notice. Auto correct sure is fun though, isn't it? You type what you want and it thinks you meant something else so changes it for you. You can't remember how to spell something that it should be able to guess and it has no clue. I turned it off on my first smart phone, but it's rather fun to see what it comes up with, so I left it on my new phone and now my tablet. It's certainly good for a laugh now and then and who doesn't need more laughter in their lives? No worries Joanmn. You are not the first to do so and won't be the last....See Morenewhostalady Z6 ON, Canada
