Olychick...I saw those table/murphy beds and like them. But since I'm using all the space for working out on the floor when guests aren't there, it would get in the way. I have a very similar look full size murphy bed in the 2nd bedroom in the main house...which is my office but I can turn down the small murphy bed there too. It looks a lot like your photo...bright white with silver handles...people keep pulling the handles, thinking they are drawers... I should say, the main house has a master bedroom and a bedroom I've turned into an office but have the above murphy bed for emergencies. My husband passed away recently so it is just me and my dog. I spent the last whole year remodeling this house from the ground up..it is right on the beach with big ocean views from every window. The house is such that I have "private space" for my master and bath so people can come in the kitchen and living room without bothering me. I get a lot of company during the summer. Annie...your comments make me think I should put a second small dresser in the room just for the dresser top...But I use the laptop in bed or on the sofa for cards/tv. So nobody thinks the sofa is a good idea? It is a tight fit.

I suppose that adding extensions to the legs cannot hurt anything. If you decide it looks terrible, then you can try again. So... - Remove the top first. It should be screwed to the aprons from underneath from your picture. Store the top in some safe place to avoid dinging it as you work. - Choose a profile for the extension by drawing it on paper or cardboard stock. were it me, I'd go to the extent of drawing the whole leg, then cutting it out so my wife could ok the exact shape. No surprises. Surprises are bad. - Drill the legs and the extensions for a dowel insert. I'd go with at least a 1/2 inch dowel. 1 1/2 inches is deep enough. You can get packaged dowels for this from a local home center or by mail order. Make sure the dowel is just a bit shorter than the total hole depth. Too long of a dowel is bad. ;-) Drilling the table legs is best done with a drill press to make sure the holes are vertical. If no drill press, then do it carefully with a hand drill. Its easy to make a mistake here, so I'd try to find a friend with a drill press if possible. - Shape the extensions as planned. Test fit on the table legs. Make sure you are happy with how it looks now. - Sand and finish the extensions. Shellac might be a good choice of finish. - Test fit again. Put it together. Make sure you are happy before gluing. Use a woodworker's glue when done. Its best to finish before gluing, as its easiest to clean off a spot of glue after the finish is applied. You don't need too much glue anyway. If after some time you are unhappy with the result, then find a local group of woodworkers. In the Rochester NY area, its the RWS. See the attached link. They have a furniture maker's SIG. I'd bet you could find someone who would love to help out as long as you provided the materials and were willing to do part of the work. Thank you very much for the help everyone (and pictures Olychic)! I canâÂÂt get this CL table out of my head. However, IâÂÂm torn (was torn on the size) but am also torn on if the covered w/two walls patio at sons house will end up looking too feminine with this table. There is another table that is similar but a bit manlier with a beautiful marble top in black/gray/white w/a bit of warm amber. Problem is itâÂÂs over an hour and a half away in a dodgy area. This is what I have so far (itâÂÂs all crammed into a bedroom right now). Also two of these chairsâ¦yet to be upholstered in white vinyl. IâÂÂm also seeking a room divider for one corner to make it all look more like a real room and to protect the black chairs on that side from the elements. The coffee table will be in a well-protected area. Not that IâÂÂm over worried about the elements because there is a pretty good overhang beyond. I will probably paint the divider (missed the one on cl) either Boulder (inside wall) or Squirrel (outside wall) itâÂÂs a gray with a tic of green that you mostly canâÂÂt detect. Or, Dolphin fin which is on the same chit. I want the room eclectic with a bit of vintage vibe but am having trouble with the coffee table pick. Ideas are welcome.

groveraxle, Thanks for the photoshops. That actually has me back to considering the light grey concrete one the most as it seems to match the overall asthetic better than others I am considering. May not be as thin as what I would prefer but the singlular central base feels like a good compromise.
