Comments (18)I was in Alaska so many years ago, cameras were still in the Polaroid fad. Mendenhall was great, we canoed down the river. We saw lots of wildlife from that vantage point. I was never at Glacier Bay, but Hubbard Glacier is similar (I have heard). One of the interesting things is how cold it gets when you get close to the glacier. The cold air flows off the ice; not only is it cold - it is somewhat windy, too. 8 years agoWe decided at the last minute to head to our place in the mountains and since our regular plant sitters (my kids) weren't available for daily watering duties we took our 4 potted patio plants with us.
They were much easier to travel with than our own kids - no arguing, no potty stops and no 'are we there yet?'

And here's a watermelon :) my favorite food plant flower is actually an eggplant. It's a purple star (solanum).

Alisande - the plants weren’t too bad, there were some blossoms on the floor but the dog did leave a covering of hair on the rug.
Fun2BHere- The plants made it safe and sound. They are so pot bound that we water them daily and my husband figured that since there was room in the car we might as well take them. So now they’re enjoying a refreshing little rain.
