can anyone tell me the name of this plant/flower

Comments (5)I love all the suggestions. I would like to also suggest a birdbath in the center. It would give the little bed a focal point, and when you have to take all the plants out, you can use the birdbath in another section of your yard. If I were keeping the bed... I'd put in an angel trumpet in the back near the fence, and let it grow into a small tree. Then I'd underplant it with pentas or a tough rose like a Knockout. I'd edge with yellow lantana, and I'd find a way to mix in some deep purple salvias. Oh, who am I kidding... I'd rip out all that grass and go absolutely berzerk! But for quick fixes, you've gotten some great suggestions. :-)...See MoreCan anyone please help me name this flower species?
Comments (2)Yes, R sanguineum. Flowering Currant - for future reference it is useful to see more of the plant rather than just a close up of the flowers. Unless you recognise it immediately, the lack of scale, lack of twigs and no indication of the fact it grew in a drooping cluster could put you right off the scent. Talking of which - have a good sniff. I think you'll find it reminiscent of cat pee. If you want more they are very easy to grow from cuttings. Just shove some twigs in the ground and most will root. BTW, yes - it is always very helpful to know where the plant was growing. This post was edited by floral_uk on Fri, Feb 6, 15 at 13:13...See MoreJay 6a Chicago
