Comments (13)You could use a much shorter lamp there to get rid of it blocking the view. However, it seems like a piece of art centered on that wall might not work......... that wall is basically the dividing line between two different rooms, right? (Yes, it's a great room... but the way the furniture is.... it just seems divided.) I would be confused about what to put up for that reason alone.... :) Personally, I would do a grouping of mirrors.... Something hung like these "Garden District" mirrors from Ballard: I'm not sure if the dimensions on these particular ones are right for your space, but I think something similar could work and look very nice....See MoreThe art consultant sent me a proposal for art in my living room! Comments (65)This OP has posted several dilemmas lately. I started reading this one from the onset and yes, there are several of the more critical posts missing. She clearly was happy about the selections and appeared to want validation from the people that had helped her with her other dilemmas. One of the first comments on my first dilemma on here was devastating to me and left me very upset. Fortunately, I have a thick skin and just flagged it and then along came some wonderful people to help me. Sometimes certain contributors just go too far. I’ve seen many OPs run off from this forum, but this is the first I’ve seen someone completely delete their account. THINK before you comment people! You could make or break someone’s day with your words...See MoreNeed help with artwork to go with new furniture in small townhouse
Comments (12)Artwork doesn't go with furniture! Artwork has to stand on its own. As ART. No Chinese sweatshop 'wall art' from online or a décor store. No giclée prints of oil paintings. That garbage is for dentists' waiting rooms and car dealers showrooms and hospital corridors. Not your home. Buy something meaningful to you. Buy something real. It doesn't have to be expensive, but it does have to speak to you and say something about you. It could even be posters of art festivals you attended, photos of places you've traveled to. Anything that's real....See MoreNeed help hanging art in living room!
Comments (12)Buy a second piece. Same size. Or find a larger piece you love. Or paint over an old canvas. Sand a bit if it has lots of texture. Prime with any latex, doesn't have to be white...leftover primer is great for this. So are sample pots. If you know any young kids, have them do it, restrict their palette to the colours you want (if you must). http://www.likemerchantships.com/2009/04/use-what-we-have-ugly-craiglist-canvas.html and https://theartofsimple.net/what-to-do-with-bad-paintings/...See MoreSally VanV
