LOL I agree! We're the same way, we have a/c but the minute a cool breeze kicks up, (like today, it's gorgeous out) the doors and windows are open. Thank you for the compliment about the entry. It's getting there. Seems like decorating is always a work in progress doesn't it? I wanted clear glass for the door originally too but privacy became an issue. Since someone at the door has a view into our living room we decided to go with a design instead. I don't want people to look in until after the door is open especially at night or when we aren't home. But the clear glass would look lovely with the style of your home. When we did the screen door, we had a lab puppy to consider, so we got a storm door with the screen roller on top. When you push the window down to open it, the screen rolls out in it's place. I like it ok, except Ellie likes to push her nose against the glass so I have to clean it alot. :c) I love the idea of a wood screen, again it would be a perfect match with the style of your house. You can paint the inside of your door a different color. We left ours white on both sides but that's because my walls are a soft golden color and I love the way it looks especially with the glass. But if my DH said have at it and do what you want, I would keep it white inside and paint the outside teal. Lighter than the shutters we just painted which are BM Newburg Green, here's a link: shutter pictures, but in the same family. I honestly don't think a stained door would look as nice as a painted one. Of course there are a billion shades of teal to choose from but I love the way these look

Thanks Beverly! The timbers are actually painted in the same chocolate brown color as the window and roof line trim as well as gutters. And the house is painted wood (been painted several times over the years house circa 1980) although we've only been here two years and inherited the bad peachy sandy beige siding and chocolate brown trim. I agree the darker pic you attached is appealing. Right now I'll be taping up several colors I've picked up. They range from mid toned to darker grays mostly with a green undertone. (I'll post some pics this afternoon.) And we don't see a choice of keeping the chocolate brown trim if we really want to enhance the appeal of the house. So we really ought to get rid of the chocolate brown trim for good--which will include also replacing the gutters and downspouts to a different color (they need replacing anyhow). I'm attaching a closer image of the timbers in the front door area and one looking in from the driveway to the front deck. After paint, trim and gutter color is chosen, we'll tackle a paint color the front door. It's scary now as it has some sort of faux finish with actual leaves embedded and painted over. Since it's an oversized custom door size we are trying to fix it rather than replacing it. The front door is to the immediate right in the deck pic. The two doors in deck photo lead to the dining room and the other to the kitchen. Will also replace light fixtures. It's always a domino effect major project to redo an exterior but it's sorely needed. Thank you again for your time, interest and sharing of talent.

I pulled up this photo. The brick is a little darker but similar to yours, I thought. I like the idea of a green for your shutters and I wondered about painting both door and trim a dark color, maybe a dark purplish almost black. I think the column could be pulled from your chart, a warmer tone than your current white - maybe Swiss Coffee. Think about whether you'd like that same color for your railing and maybe a dark brown from your brick for the treads and risers. Here's a screenshot of some greens that might work.
