Thanks teechah. I have mannered gold in the guest bath with black/red accents. The office is ryegrass with black furniture and the guest bedroom is a tan (can't remember the name), with a black iron bed with a tan, black and red striped comforter. I was leaning toward a chocolate accent wall.....because of the sheen of this comforter, I think I need colors with a "dusky" feel. Not necessarily darker colors, just a dusky tone, if that makes sense. The blue I have on my walls now is a very clean light blue and in my opinion it doesn't flow well. A different shade of blue might work well, though.

I have gray walls C2 Vancouver Day all through my main living space in just a bit different hues from walls to ceilings I have mostly black, white and gray furniture with one very pale teal chair. I love it because i can add any color i like for an accent at different times of the year.The wall color is truly just gray wit no real undertones of anything else.So if you stick to a true gray the sky is the limit to colors that work with it.This is my LR, at christmas I use red and gold for my tree and accents. We have a lot of very colorful art and I like it to be the star

Fake and real is a terrible combo. Just because others have made those big mistakes doesn’t not make them mistakes. If you insist on tile over wood that matches the rest of the house, then look at a natural slate in a charcoal color. Or possibly a gauged quartzite in a subtle versailles pattern. Or a plain large format porcelain that isn’t an obvious stone fake. Maybe something that echoes a subtle stained concrete.
