Hello, Maj. You do not mention the climate you live in. I know nothing about pre-fab 4-seasons rooms, but from the info you provided, I can make a few comments. You said the prices were too high but this one at $5,500 seems to be affordable to you, so I think you answered your own question about the price. That sounds like a decent unit (from the specs). I built a sun room 8 x 14 and it costs a WHOLE LOT more than $5,500 (in Canada, where things cost more). I wish I had made it larger (although that was not feasible). Adding a sun room does not bring more light in. What brings the light in is removing the wall where it connects to the house. I am not sure exactly what else you really want to know. Knowing your zone or State will make it easier for anyone to know what you will be up against. I had to spend a LOT of money on proper footings because of frost and because of a lot of water and a lot of clay, all right where the footings sit. The deck (off of the sun room) and the sun room footings have been repaired and/or removed and/or adjusted 3 times in 8 years. This year, the whole mess will be dug up (with the sun room temporarily supported). The deck is already removed (it heaved nearly a foot this past winter). So be prepared to spend whatever it costs to do the foundation and footings well (based on where you live: climate, soil, water).

I have a grey kitchen that opens up to a yellow-green sunroom. I would like the rooms to have coordinating decor--feeling like an extension of each other. I am planning to incorporate a more buttery/mustard yellow with the grey in the kitchen...so the sunroom yellow and window treatments as they are won't work. I'm thinking to add the buttery/mustard yellow and white window treatments in the kitchen. But not sure what to do with sunroom. Should I paint the walls in the sunroom the same color as kitchen and change the window treatment to a coordinating pattern with those in the kitchen? Or paint the sunroom more of a buttery/mustard yellow...a paler version...and then do grey toned window treatment (maybe same pattern as in kitchen but grey)? I'd love any suggestions for best way to tie the rooms together with those colors, without feeling overwhelmed. Note: The furniture in the sunroom is NOT what I'm planning for there...it's only temporary. I have shared some pics to show layout, and colors. You will need to look beyond the kid art and clutter! Your window treatment sounds wonderful. If my ceiling were level, I'd be using the long rods to put drapes in the corners and middle to pull closed over sheers. The linen I'm considering, I have two panels in the natural that I tried in my master bedroom. They are significantly more substantial than the crinkled voile up now. I think they'll do a better job of filtering light. The spacing between the windows isn't consistently the same, so inside mount, rather than outside, minimizes the imperfections. These photos show the problems. The first is the slider and narrow window on a slightly sloping ceiling. The long wall window frames aren't even the same height. This, at some point in time, had been an exterior open porch. I'm going to do something different to cover the slider--mounting a draw curtain or shade above the trim to even it up with the window. The ceilings slope on each end for roof drainage. The other end of the room, behind the daybed shows the windows are straight, but the trim above isn't. The old board ceiling is charming, so I didn't update it.

I'd advise spending a bit more and going to a reputable retail showroom that carries solar shade lines in your local area. Online pricing is great, but if you're doing the measuring and mess up, it's on you, not on them. Sometimes it's worth spending a bit more knowing the products will be backed by the vendor and the retailer.
