first thing I'd do is confirm that its the wall that is out of plumb and not the new cabinet. A good finish carpenter would be able to mask that by adding some sort of trim/molding at the edge to clean it the lines. Does i continue to slope at the bottom or is the wall edge "warped"? I agree that it looks ugly.

Sdello, thank you so much for the info. It continue to slope at the bottom. And I am sure it's not the new cabinet as the cabinet installer used laser level and I can see it's totally fine. Do you still think it can be covered? Thanks

Rip the wall apart and rebuild it. Trim ain’t ever gonna cover up 3” out of whack. But the bigger question is why this is so wonky. Did someone take a wall down and not support things correctly?

Either the wall or the cabinet is an inch and a half or two inches out of plumb. I've never seen a wall that goofy. Check the wall yourself.

If you can't borrow a level, tape a quarter to the end of a six foot length of sewing thread, then hold the other end against the top of the wall. If the quarter hangs away from the wall, the wall is out of plumb. If the quarter rests against the wall, your contractor is out of plumb.

Is this relatively recent construction? The lumber going into houses these days is pretty abominable. It's not impossible to imagine a badly warped 2x4 stud was put there, and the builders figured that no one would ever notice.

Get a long level and put it on the side of the cabinet. If that is actually level, then use the level on that corner of the wall and see if the wall is level. Before it can be fixed, you need to determine which is crooked, the cabinet or the wall. Do it yourself, that way, you will know for sure. If it turns out to be the cabinet, then it needs to be redone. If it is the wall, then that part of the wall needs to be taken down and repaired. If the problem isnt corrected, it will be noticable forever, no matter what other fix you try to do. By a long level, I mean one that is about 4 ft long.

Hiding instead of fixing a major issue shouldn’t even be an option. That ain’t 1/2” over 10’.

I share Sophie's concern about the underlying cause of the out of plumb condition. Warped studs or a lack of craftsmanship may or may not be the root cause. If there's a structural issue, now is the time to figure it out and fix it.

There is a fix, but it is putting lipstick on a tree trunk and calling it a waterfall.

Fabricate shims to install as studs(positioning the shims where wall studs are in the wall) and install 1/4" sheet rock. Probably need to remove the door and do the entire wall.

Would I do that? Not no but heck no!

Find out what is wrong and fix it right!

Thanks everyone! I am asking my contractor to redo the wall.

To make it more understandable, we remove a supporting wall recently and replaced with a steel beam. It is the location where the steel post is (supporting the beam). It has passed strict inspection so I don't think there is structural problem. As silky367 suggested, I put two sewing thread (one with a key another one with a nail) on the wall, you can see the spot close to the door is not that wonky but it gets really bad at the end. So I think it is more likely the lack of craftsmanship. Will find out.

Passing inspection is better than failing. But there is no guarantee that it’s done correctly, for sure. Get the structural engineer who created the plan to come and take a look following the drywall demo. Something is NOT right under the surface. I’d bet the post footing was neglected, or the beam post connection is inadequate.
