Want to help me choose accessories for blank slate bedroom(s)?
Comments (5)whenicit, Thanks, but I need LOTS of help! The other advantage to the 2nd layout in BR1 is that the headboard is rather high and if I put it along the wall, it won't block the windows which would probably be better. I'll see about adding seating when I get the beds assembled. We may have room and it would give me a project to scour antique shops. That is what I'm planning on doing for a nightstand in the second bedroom. A little shabby/chic, beachy. I was going to look through some "Real Simple" magazines for inspiration. I'm not sure exactly what I want yet, but I though a "weathered" table, perhaps in a fun color, would go nicely with the iron bed. ajsmama, Thank you for the suggestion on BR1. I agree that swaping the nightstand is much better. On BR2, I think I could move the dresser closer to the door. The only think I actually don't like about the dresser in that position in general is that I'm not fond of the look of it from the side, but no mater how far forward or backward it is, I'm going to have that problem... Thanks for all you help! Jaymie...See Morecan I see your rooms with pillows, rugs, art and curtains please?
Comments (27)We have all cream colored walls, and solid chairs and sofas all in the brown and tan family...Except for a outrageous red chair in our family room. I love the splashes of red with the tans and Browns. I love pillows and dress up the chairs and sofas with pillows. Heck, even our throw pillows have throw pillows.. including our DR chairs they have throw pillows as well. :) Most of them are needlepoint with some tapestry pillows. I change them around often. I have many in reserve. I also love animal prints. This is the LR and DR area. The family room has a leather sofa recliner, Two leather chairs, a red chair and yup, lots of throw pillows....See MoreColor Scheme for Pillows??
Comments (5)Great decor you’ve chosen! It’s going to come together nicely. Have you done a search yet, such as ‘boho pillows’? I just did and so many great choices came up. Anthropology, Pottery Barn, West Elm, World Market, Etsy ... just a few of the many who carry awesome pillows. I’d go for some fringe, some textured ones, colorful ones, macrame, some neutrals ... and just mix and match for a truly collected look. Your other elements are more crisp and clean mid-century, so I think adding boho-style pillows will really give it the look you’re going for. This is just a small sampling, there are tons of choices out there. :) Basically, I’d pull colors from your rug, and bring in texture....See MoreNeed help decorating bedroom
Comments (9)Since you are looking for new drapes, I wouldn’t use sheers but something heavier and with more interest. Also suggest a longer rod so drapery rests more on wall vs window and doesn’t look as skimpy I think your headboard is too high to add art above - prints over nightstand Can be as attractive If dresser and bed is exchanged, if other wall is longer, the bed could be centered and another nightstand added with prints over each one for balance and added impact...See Moreeverdebz
