How can I fix this microwave cabinet ?
Comments (2)I would make sure thats what you ordered. The opening does look awfully tall. The GC options sound good too: even if it is not what you ordered I wonder if returning it will be an issue since you installed it. Dunno, depends on your kitchen cabinet dealer. It is pretty standard to have the upper shelf of a base cabinet at half depth. You will still like having the pullout, don't worry....See Moresagging kitchen cabinet door -- how to fix?
Comments (1)I see this problem alot. What is happening is the hinges are so close together that they have a hard time supporting the weight of the door. You have two choices, you can either take the screws out of the top hinge and move them back just enough to bite into new wood and not split. This should help them hang straight and when the doors are shut you will not see the old screw holes. Your second option is to take your hand and hit the top vertical edge of the door toward the hinge. These hinges are so soft that you can usually hit it with your hand when the door is almost closed and it will bend the hinge enough to straighten up the door. Hope this helps. Comments (1)I doubt it will stick even if you push it back with heat. If this is thermofoil cabinets Option 1 the thermofoil must be removed and re-laminated if the the MDF surface is not damaged beneath. There are companies who do re-lamination you just have to find one near you or ship the door to a near by facility you can find. If not Option 2, remove the thermofoil and paint the door with matching color which is a cheaper way out just to make a match is much harder but it can be done if the door is sprayed by a professional. Option 3, try locating your kitchen manufacturer and order a new door. Good luck...See MoreHow can I fix my mistake for prepping kitchen cabinets for paint?
Comments (29)My job is not quite DIY (but not quite a pro painter) since I am a handyman by trade (for the last 16 years) and do similar projects and do recommend much higher end materials, but my brother is on a budget since he is just trying to get the house sold and he lost his job roughly 8 or 9 months ago and has not been able to find a job since the holidays or COVID. Times have been tough and he is incapable of getting results like this on his own. I usually rent all my equipment and he does not even have the budget for that so I finally decided to purchase my own airless for his project. Everything was done the exact way a pro painter would have done it on the exception of the materials and not having layed the cabinet doors flat while spraying to allow the paint to self level. We used the cup hook and coat hanger method to save time even though you run the risk of having the paint run or not have proper coverage if you don't run the sprayer at the correct speed. Thank you wiscokid and eam44 for your input on the matter. Live_wire_oak, at some point everyone was not a professional and did not know how to paint, even you; you have to start somewhere and should be educating people without making them feel bad about their decisions. I did not expect a high end professional job, but neither did I expect a DIY result either....See MoreRelated Professionals
