Comments (7)Yes, we need a better picture of the BS. First, I agree with beeps about the 4" BS. My feeling is to do one or the other, but not both. Your issue is something that I faced with my kitchen. My Dove White cabinets were too white for the browns in my Giallo. I first had a white tile installed, but then removed it. Too white for the browns. My current tile is Grazia Rixi in crema. It works as a transition color between the white in the cabinets and the browns in the counter. Your BS picks up on more of the browns and it slso looks a bit busy with your counter. I would find a lighter toned beige or cream tile without the color variation. I would remove the 4" BS and replace with tile....See MoreCambria counters installed today. taking backsplash ideas now!

I think the layout will be as difficult to decide as the material itself. As for color - if you don't want to go green, I think you could get away with a brownish/reddish tile slightly darker than the counters, since everything else is nice and light, and you have such good lighting. I see maybe a uniform color, glass tiles perhaps, with varying tile sizes, like the second picture EAM44 posted....See MoreBacksplash? No backsplash? What kind of backsplash?
Comments (25)didn't have time to read all the answers. I have no backsplash and have never regretted it...been over 6 yrs. It is painted with BM matte...which has ceramic in it. It is as beautiful now as it was when first painted. I love the fact that I can showcase other things ...art etc in my kitchen and no competition. Also if I ever want to change it is as quick as a paint brush...expense is minimal..paint only ! All in all I think it is serene as you point out . Here is one pick. Since I have a lot of high heat cooking in my kitchen..built in deep fat fryer as well as gas cook top I can definitely speak to the longevity of paint only. c ( more at this album )...See MoreNeed help with backsplash for Cambria Brittanica countertops
Comments (6)This is the point in the process where you pull out the inspiration images. There are a lot of DOs out there. Also a few DONTs - like the last image below. You’ll want to choose a neutral, white, light grey or deep grey, OR a neutral or cool saturated color - deep neutral navy for example. What I would recommend is that you find a look you like, then let us know your budget for tile in $/sf. I don’t love the tile over the cooktop in this image, but the white subway tile is lovely. The grey goes beautifully, but be aware, it abuts the perimeter counters which are obviously a different material. Beautiful contrast with this tile in a deep grey. Another white tile - classic. Really the only mistake you can make is to choose a busy tile, like the absolutely wrong inset in this image....See MoreSue 430
