Friday's blooming mess!!
Comments (11)Rita, I ordered the Hellow Yellow Butterfly from one of the garden places in Mi. I don't remember the name but you could google it. I've had it for several years..Look at Debra's Julie Newmar..mine's piteous!! I have orange Butterfly weed that has a red eye and I have some side of the road weed too! I like them too and the butterflies love them... Debra, I suspect that dl is from Splendid touch but don't know for sure. She does have a good form, color and the watermark that make her pretty. Yep, the other flowers and weeds are loving the rain.. Vickie, the pink orphan is the best of this bunch, so far. I have another very similar dl that's 3 or 4 years old that is a beauty too! I like the J Iris too but they are quite tall.. The others didn't bloom!! Michelle, my Japanese Iris last several days..They are planted in filtered sun. They get full morning but partially shadied in the afternoon..The Hydrangea has an oak leaf but is a hybrid call Harmony!! It was discovered in South Alabama at an old homeplace about 50 years ago. The pic doesn't do it justice because the blooms can get as big as your head and the bloosoms are so thick, you can barely get a finger forced through. It rained a bit this morning and we are expecting heavier rain this afternoon. I love the rain but don't like the splotches! Yuck!!! I wondered what you had been up to Nancy! I bet it looks dreamy there now. It looked good the last time I was there!. I have a small greenhouse but no shelves yet. A couple of my daughters bought it for me last Nov for my b'day. I wish I had had it several years ago!! Waiting patiently for picture!! BTW, I got something Marvelous from you when you got it new. Mine is Ballroom Waltz.. Thanks for all the responce!! Comments (10)Thank you all! Statmam, glad my pic helped :) Chris, spidery noid could be somebody's seedling, I don't know. It was among my very first daylilies, mostly noids. Mantis, I am surprised I don't have a lot of spotty blooms this year. Normally both Mighty Fortress and Tower of Babel will have spots (there are some minor now on TOB, but not like the years before)....See MoreI'm happy about any blooming now!
Comments (6)I love the color of Final Touch although I don't think mine has ever rebloomed. Concrete Blonde, on the other hand, has sent up three sets of rebloom scapes this season and is still going strong. I am thinking of dividing it and putting it in every bed I have to give some color throughout the yard this time of year. If I do that it will probably never rebloom again!!...See MoreSome blooms on a beautiful Friday
Comments (8)Becky Adams is blooming for the first time. It was added to the garden last spring. Catching Fire was just recently moved, but it didn't seem to mind. Dynamic Apricot Ruffles is a beautiful color, but it is hard to get a good picture of it because it just seems to reflect the sun. Bob likes Peach Yum Yum, but I an not a fan. I think it's the shape I don't care for. We moved Spacecoast Thorny Devil last fall (it was in the section smashed by the fallen pine tree) and it seems to like its new location. I posted Sihir the other day, but today's bloom was much better so I'll post it again. I think it am really going to like this one. That's all for today. Nancy...See Moredaylilybedmaker
