Comments (8)We love the display and wavetouch controls. Ours is mounted undercounter, but the controls are still very easy to see and use, the writing on the readout is very large, for example the word convection is about an inch long, so I can read it without my glasses. See the post about the GE oven with the hard to read display, so mounting under counter a good easy to use touch panel is a must, as are the fully gliding out racks. The oven is easy to use. All the controls for the oven are LARGE Circles, about an inch. Lets say you want to "Convection bake" (1) Touch convection bake circle, it beeps and blinks. (2) Enter the temp (we use 350) so 3, 5, 0. (3) Touch Start. DONE!!! Now lets get a lil fancier and preheat the oven, OK? (1) Touch the preheat circle. (2) Enter the Temp (3) Touch Start (4) Oven will beep when it has reached preheat temp, if you missed it, No worries, the display on mine shows Dashes, until it reaches preheat, then the display shows the temp, so all I gotta do is look for numbers instead of dashes to know the preheat is done. Mine is a 2006 model, I believe the newer models actuall show the actual temp as the oven preheats, Maybe CJ can comment as her oven is a newer model than mine. Anyway, I'm an Old F*** and I have no problem seeing and operating the oven controls, even thou it's below counter. HTH's Gary...See MoreMajor Kitchen Remodel - Need Appliance Help
Comments (7)Range: The Wolf AG and Culinarian are about the same amount of money. $400 more if you want a color for the Culinarian. The Culinarian is based on the Capital Precision. This range has an excellent reputation;first rate. Some of the previous models did not have a first rate reputation. Then again Wolf has had to recall ovens in the past for being dangerous. Wall Oven: IMO 1)Gaggenau 2)Miele 3)Wolf. Love love love the side opening door on the Gagg. Also has an air catalyst that cleans air before exiting to your kitchen. So no grease from your wall oven gets to your cabs or ceiling. No smells either. This can be good when cooking fish;) or bad when baking cookies :( . Also no flavor transfer so you can bake multiple items if they happen to bake at the same temp. Ability to hold even temperature is second to none. There is no significat differences in MW or warming drawer. The Culinarian self-clean oven comes with a rotis and is Gas. I think this is preferable when using the rotis to roast meats. Dishwasher: Miele. Diamante if you just want it to clean well. The Optima is going to be quiter and more energy/water efficient with sensor dry/sensor clean. Excella has eco sensor and load size sensor which calibrates water/energy consumption further. As you move up the machines get quieter too. Fridge: People here can have takes about reliability, food preservation abilities, temperature maintenence but it seems your difficulites choosing a fridge come down to layout. Only you can figure out which layout works best for you. If you are going with the 42" KA I would rather get the 42 Jenn-Air. The 42" bulit in French Door Jenn Air has the more sophisticated variable speed/capacity compressor plus the diamond cut pro handles. These are my favorite fridge handles. IF you have not opened and closed fridges with these definetly check them out....See MoreHelp with selecting fridge - Kitchen Aid, Samsung or Jenn Air?
Comments (11)I have had the Samsung French door for about 3 months and absolutely love it. Who knows why, but the crisper drawers keep vegetables fresher longer than the Whirlpool Gold SxS it replaced (and I like the Whirlpool--I just replaced when I went to stainless). You'll find that VERY quickly you get used to where stuff is and you'll open the correct door. I do admit that for the first month I kept opening the left door when I was looking for the freezer. But now I'm fully trained and open the correct door. Husbands may take a little longer to train. ;-) The bottom freezer is very sturdy and you will love the handle and ease of pulling it out, even when loaded. Fridge temp is super steady, even in the door. As you may have read, the ice maker's a little loud when it drops the cubes, but it's a small price to pay, IMHO. I really love this fridge and the French door configuration. Loads of room. Very quiet while running. Nifty blue lights. I'll give it an "A."...See MoreHelp me decide: Kitchen Aid Architect vs Samsung, LG and Whirlpoo
Comments (0)Hi! After pining for a GE Cafe dual fuel for a year I've decided the budget can't stand that much "good" and want to do something less pricey (under $2K) but still highly functional. Considering 5 burner gas ranges with warming drawers and a "power burner." Can't find a single review on the Kitchen Aid KGRS308BSS (with slow cook warming drawer) but am leaning toward it b/c like the idea of slow cooking in it but still getting a powerful set of burners at 18K/15K/ 9.5K/ 8K/ 5K simmer. Other options are Samsung FX710BGS with "warming only drawer" and same burners btus. Or, the LG LRG3093SB with burners 19K/12K/9.1K/8K/5K. Or, the Whirl pool WFG720H0AS 17K/15K/9.5K/8K/5K. Any thoughts or feedback for me? I ruled out the GE Profile P2B930SETSS on price -- it's $2.5K and I can get the GE Dual fuel for that, too......See MoreRelated Professionals
