Hi everyone, Finally coming back to this after some time spent ruminating. Our reno is now underway so I really need to pick out the lights! Elizardbeth, I really love those, but they are too expensive for me. I also fear that they'd get dirty since we will cook a lot on the peninsula and I have a little boy. :) Spartans99, I love that Murray Feiss pendant a lot. I'm a little concerned about how good it would be for task lighting, though, since that would be my light above the sink for washing dishes and also above the peninsula where I hope to do a lot of prep work. I read some reviews on amazon that expressed concern about the fact that it's see-through, so you don't want to choose the brightest light, or it's blinding. So the effect is rather 19th-century-ish...i.e., candlelit because people end up choosing the dimmer Edison bulbs. Anybody have any ideas on this? Or any other pendant ideas? Thanks! I have been to 3 lighting stores, one twice because they gave me the wrong type of recessed lights. None of the pendants really struck my fancy until I saw the first pendant in my OP, but it doesn't come in a silver type finish and I am not fond of the ceiling fixture that matches. I saw two ceiling lights I kind of liked, the smaller square one that is the last photo in my OP, and this one: Neither one has a matching pendant. This one is discontinued but is still available. When I realized that all of them were Murray Feiss, I looked on the designers web site since the lighting store said they would order any fixture I wanted as long as it was a brand they carried. Another of the lighting stores didn't have what I was originally imagining but offered to make it for me. They haven't gotten back to me with a price yet. My idea was to have a light over the sink similar to what they place over islands, but much smaller in scale. They were going to take to "C" shaped wall fixtures apart for me, in satin nicked or similar brushed finish, separate them by a small bar and add a matching pendant type arm that it would hang from. Anyway, not sure if you can imagine it, but they were as surprised as I was that they couldn't find anything similar available pre made to match the multiple light island lights. I like the idea of gold pendants, I've been toying with that idea myself! However, I'm not sure how I feel about mixing finishes on light fixtures if there are other fixtures in the same vicinity. Have you thought about using the Antique copper?

Hello! It's definitely possible to not do a matching fixture and get the look you want. I like what a few of these projects did below by keeping the same metal material- so in your case the iron, and keeping that as the constant. I would not mix glass. I would try to do an open fixture or a solid black one as you will see below. I hope this helps envision your space a bit more.
