Comments (34)I don't think you're playing it safe. I think you're finding your style. We all mess up with our choices. If you take a look at the color tone of all your favorites and the one you installed; they are all light. So that's where you start. A light backsplash is definitely a perfect match for your stone. You cabs are darker and something light with some visual interest will be great. I think people find that visual interest in different things. Yours just happens NOT to be in tumbled stone. One is not "more right" then the other. I happen to find I'm always drawn to glass... it's just a matter where you taste lies. I can't wait to see it photoshopped. I have no clue how to do that or I do it for you!...See MoreHATE my new backsplash!!!
Comments (85)I don't have time to read through all the responses. Did anyone like it? I'd take it down pronto before the backsplash police come to arrest you. Your cabinets and granite are gorgeous, and I usually don't like busier granites. I really love the curved island. Take your time deciding on a new backsplash. I'm building a house too and I understand why you don't want to cause any delay. If I were you I'd remove it myself (it's not hard to do) and ask the contractor to repair the drywall and paint over it. Then you can wait a good while before having to make another decision. If you're like me you have enough to do right now with the last minute decisions and moving. Good luck!!!...See MoreHelp - I hate my new backsplash!!!
Comments (12)Don't know how to help without pictures. From all that I have read here, the BS decision is the #1 decision nightmare. Feeling your pain here. In my case the actual tile came in the wrong color and crackle finish. My contractor did install it (knowing full well he may have to tear it all out) but with a change of grout color, it looks warmer. It actually looks like I knew what the heck I was doing :) He did have to rip some tile out around the garden window, b/c he not like how that running board looked, but there was no damage to the cabs. A good contractor will have the right tools to remove you tile carefully if that's the way you want to go. Take a deep breath, have a glass of wine, and don't rush into a hasty decision. Best of luck to you!...See Moreleelee
