Ceaserstone Pure White or Cambria White Cliff?

We just installed white shaker kitchen cabinets and a navy blue island. Our backsplash is a Carrara marble subway tile. I am torn between Ceaserstone Pure White and Cambria White Cliff quartz countertop. Anyone have advice on how to decide which is whiter?

Get samples and compare it to your other surfaces to see which one matches better (not necessarily which one is whiter). Budget might be a consideration as well. I believe Cambria is more expensive.

In my area, Cambria is definitely the most expensive brand of quartz, which to me doesn't make a lot of sense since I live in the Midwest.

I would definitely order samples and test them out for staining. My Caesarstone Nouget did not pass the stain test. I could not get mustard out, even with Soft Scrub.

All Cambria is priced the same per square foot, regardless of color. You can't average out the total as a square foot price though. Our basic material price is under $80 per square foot for the installed stone, not including any extras. But the upgraded edges and cutouts can be a significant charge. One kitchen I did has $1200 worth of an upgraded edge in it. Look at possibly changing to one of the free edges and looking at the other extras that you are including. Price the material separate from the extras to know if you're ballpark or not. $80-100 is ballpark for the basic material installed price.

We paid $80 a square ft. That included everything. I have read there is a big range depending on where you live. We are in Michigan.

Hi @maggieterry! No regrets at all on the BM Simply White + Cambria Britannica, and I would do it again. The color seemed to match well, and I actually think your lighting choice (warm or cool) in the kitchen will have a bigger impact if you are sticking with the more neutral whites (even if they have slight tints). Having Britannica as a backsplash looks stunning (and works great too when cleaning up oil splatter), but I highly recommend you work with your fabricator to make it as seamless as possible (using as few transitions as possible). Cambria Britannica has some pretty bold veining, and so it can be very obvious where the transition points are if done without care. By the way, one thing that I discovered about Cambria (if you are still choosing between manufactuers), is that their countertops are one of the few that are rated for commercial use spaces, and they also have a really great lifetime warranty on chips (which they do not widely advertise). We bumped a heavy pot against the edge of the sink and it chipped, but when I called Cambria, they sent a repair person over that week to patch it without any questions asked or any extra cost to me. That gives me great peace of mind knowing that they will do that.

Last year it took me hours and two visits to a MSI showroom to select the counters for two projects totaling 12 kitchens. I had never used a man-made stone before and I found the Quartz marble-like patterns to be unconvincing and inelegant but the granite-like patterns were much better and the best of those was Macaubas Wave that was elegant and understated which is what I think a large piece of stone in the middle of a house should be especially if you will be preparing and eating food on it. Color and texture is best provided by utensils, dishwater and accessories. It was not in a high price range but It was a new pattern and not in the online catalog. I don't know if they still sell it.

I've had Cambria White Cliff in my master bathroom for 4 years. Not the same as a kitchen, but no issues with staining with bathroom products. I color my hair (medium brown) at the sink and have dripped on the counters. Any stains come out easily with some Clorox cleaner with bleach.

Thank you everyone. I have samples and have looked at them in different lights at different times of the day and I still can't decide (and am driving myself crazy!). Cambria is more expensive in the NY area too. I was hoping someone had experience with both to solve my issue (wishful thinking!). I have done the stain test and haven't had any issues yet but also am realistic about what could happen. Thanks again for your advice!

According to Maria Killam, caesarstone pure white works best with Carrara marble. It looked the best out of all the options I was looking at but I did not try it with Cambria white cliff.

I have a sample of Pure White and if I look closely I see a "dappled" effect -- i.e. there's a white background with a bunch of little off-white "dots". Viewed at more and mnore distance it comes across more and more as a uniform color. I'm wondering if others see the same thing. And is the Cambria product just a pure white with no "dappling". To me you don't want this dappling if what you want is to match a white countertop with white cabinets (which would just be a uniform paint color and would not have any dappling).
