Jubilee Celebration rose for the Jubilee Celebration?
Comments (7)Apparently they were some that the Queen had that she liked. Don't know how much truth there is to that. It may also have seemed like shameless marketing to use their new rose. The designer that chose the roses wasn't anything to do with DA - she requested the roses she liked. They are selling loads of Jubilee Celebration at the nursery - what is weird though is that you can't actually get Royal Jubilee yet - it is only bare roots from nov onwards. All the other new releases are available - just not that one. It is funny that they have put Jubilee Celebration on one of the beds up near the top where the newer roses are - they know how to place things for extra sales :-)...See MoreJubilee Celebration - 2019 - Zone 8B
Comments (2)Love your pics. She is a beauty. As for health, I'd give mine a B- or maybe even B-/C+. If the blooms weren't so lovely, I would have replaced mine sometime ago. I still sometimes think I might, but . . . . Mine has never grown taller than 2.5+ ft, and it is about 7 years old. The Austin catalog lists it as 4 ft. tall. Anybody else get one to grow that tall? Comments (11)Thank you all for your kind comments! Jin, bringing roses into the house always makes my day too...Enjoying them in AC is so much nicer than watching them toast in the heat! Stephanie, I agree JC’s color and also the petal shape really make it a standout! Helen, thank you for your comment on the vase type...I love nodding roses, but it was so challenging in the beginning on finding the right vase. This is actually a very tall glass with a non-fluted lip. One thing I like about JC for cutting is that the roses have very long thornless stems. The leaves will catch you but smooth stems are so nice for arrangement!...See MoreJubilee Celebration - 3rd Year
Comments (6)I check Jobe's Organic Knockout Rose at NPK 3-4-3, it's twice the cost of Jobes' Organic Tomato fertilizer NPK 2-5-3 (4 lb. for $6.98). Both have the same ingredients. I'm buying a second bag of Jobe's organic tomato fertilizer for roses (bone meal, poultry manure, sulfate of potash), it's -56% off on Amazon. I like how bone meal deepens the color of my roses. Jobe's Organic Knockout Rose has the SAME INGREDIENTS, but with Feather meal to UP the NPK to 3-4-3. I don't like Espoma Tone since they have chemical nitrogen fertilizer. The last time I used Plant tone my Dee-lish shot up to be 7 feet tall with less bloom, and the last time I used Holly Tone, Dee-lish was near 8 feet tall....See MoreKrista_5NY
