Does anyone use Hoover FloorMate w/SpinScrub?
Comments (7)Our entire house is 12x12 light colored ceramic tile and I use a Floormate to clean it. I love this piece of equipment and cannot imagine having to go back to the old way of cleaning (vacuum, mop and dry). It does it all, and is easy to use and handle as well. When I bought it, the sales person cautioned that it is designed for cleaning hard flooring, but NOT necessarily grout, unless your grout is high enough so as to be nearly level with the tile. According to her, as long as the grout is no more than a fingernail thickness from the surface of the tile it would get it, otherwise it would not. So my expectations were realistic to begin with. What I like best is how well it cleans the tile and how dry it leaves it. For us there are zero marks or streaks, though this may be floor specific. I can imagine that anyone that has a shiny floor might get streaks no what they use to clean it. I do prefer my stick vac for dry vacuuming, so that is what I use most often, but when the floor needs mopped, I get out the FloorMate. To do the kitchen takes about 15 minutes. The hall about 10, and the MBR another 10. The hardest part is getting all the junk off the floor and out of the way--that takes longer than the cleaning process. I guess the only trouble free way to clean is to hire someone else to do it, but until that day comes, I will remain a satisfied FloorMate customer. Comments (2)I really wanted it, but decided against for same reason clg7067 gives. However, I used it in the powder room and it is beautiful. I am still in the renovation process so do not know how easy to clean, but don't expect too many problems in the bathroom!!...See MoreDoes anyone have any info on Hanssem cabinets for a kitchen?
Comments (9)A kitchen and bath store in Deer Park Long Island about 30 min. away sells only Hassem cabinets but his showroom looks so messy with cartons piled onto each other obscuring the door styles that it makes it unlikely that anyone can find what they are looking for. Yet people must be buying Hanssem as stores sell them or they would go out of business. At this time, I am slightly discouraged with what I hear about Hanssem. I am looking for a frameless, very moderately priced cabinet that won't give me any aggravation with a light maple finish and a door that looks like the Camden door (framed Thomasville.) I have Omega door taste and a Thomasville door pocket....See MoreAnd...does anyone love their kitchen floors?
Comments (53)Safe to say my Mom loves her new kitchen floor. I wasn't so sure about her criteria (mostly she was focused on maintenance) but from a practical standpoint it is a gem. The overall design with the swirled colours hides really well, no seams, it is soft underfoot and no glue had to be used for the installation. In terms of appearance it is very contemporary looking but very warm. I have tile in my current kitchen (in a quite nice mid tone gray) and never again would I have tile - it shows everything, its hard to stand on and goodbye to anything you drop. Not for me - kitchen needs to be practical above all else in my book. Wood would be nice but I have to do engineered (concrete construction)and I wouldn't do engineered in a kitchen (too much risk of water damage for me).
