Need advice ---------- on installing a new kitchen island range hood

I'm hoping to install a new kitchen island range hood mounted from the ceiling. Currently the duct goes underneath the island, so will need to install new ductwork that goes above the kitchen ceiling. This is a 2 story home with a bedroom directly above the kitchen area. My inspector told me that the joists run parallel to direction I want the new duct to go, so no need to drill holes in the joists. The new duct will probably be about 8-10 feet long before it vents out. I also hope to install an external motor/blower if feasible.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to separately hire a HVAC guy to install the new duct, then hire a handy man to install the hood, and a roofer to drill a vent ?

2. How much would this type of job cost typically?

2. How can I save some money in this project, which part of this job can we DIY?
