What color garage door to match new roof?

(First picture is the old roof just to show the current garage door color)

We recently got a new black roof to match our black shutters and are trying to find a paint color for the currently poop brown garage door. Our siding is beige and painting that is not an option. I’d like to try to not accentuate the garage door or the ugly siding if possible. The rest of my home is brick.

Should we we paint the garage door white? The same color as the siding? One shade lighter than the siding? Something else? Please help!

Paint your garage door the same color as the siding so it blends. Don't paint it white.

Do you have shutters next to your front door? If so, remove them they don't belong there. Or, are there sidelights next to the front door? It is hard to tell from this pic.

Replace your front door with a door that doesn't have that distinctive Victorian glass oval in the door. If you can't do it right away, keep it on your list for the near future when you are able to replace the door. Go with a door with no windows, something like the door below (but a different color). The first one is more contemporary, the second more colonial. Black doors recede a bit. A color will accent the front door. The trick is finding one that works well with your brick. It is possible and done all the time :) JMO

The front door has thick wooden trim around it, assuming the previous home owners were trying to hide something when they replaced it a few years ago. That’s a can of worms for a different day :)

What is the pitch of the roof? Is it highly visible or barely visible from the street? If the roof is a 4/12 or 5/12, the shingle color won't be visible enough to make an impact on the door or shutter color. Michael

We recently painted our house, including the siding, all the trim, and the front door. The siding color was previously a light shade of gray, and the front door was black. We were hoping that the new color scheme would cause the garage to recede while also pulling attention to the front door (which is always in the shadows due to the large tree in front, the angle of the house, and the porch roof). We went ahead and painted the garage door trim to match all the other trim. I am sort of feeling that it looks too busy with that garage door trim causing lines to pop out across the front expanse of the garage. Maybe there's just not a good way around it; the original house design, combined with the large tree, really makes the garage prominent. If we painted the garage door trim the same color as the siding, would that look odd? Would it make the garage look too imposing as a wall of nearly solid green? Should we accept the fact the garage is prominent and consider getting nicer doors that we might paint white?
