Advice for monster Bleeding Heart Z5

Chris Reher, z5b

Hi,

I've had a gorgeous, show-stopping bleeding heart on the north side for at least eight years. Gets a bit of morning sun and then a few hours of late afternoon.

It's now a good 6 foot across. (The crown itself is maybe a foot wide) but this year I've had far fewer blooms than previously. I have not amended the soil in a long while.

It's so healthy and vigorous that I'm worried about splitting it (I also don't really have another spot for a new one). But would replanting it really help with the fewer blooms? This image was taken at the peak of bloom - it has packed on a lot more mature foliage since.
