Decorating a Hallway
Comments (11)I don't know how much money you want to put into this if you don't own this house and don't know how long you will stay there. What I mean is, I don't know if you want to do things like change light fixtures.... But what I would consider is painting the door at the end of the hall a color that you liked. Because all the walls are a neutral, you have a big choice of what color you could use. I might even think about some molding on the door, like wall frames, and then putting perhaps a mirror on it to reflect light. Even a pretty wreath or something would make it a more interesting focal point. And then I might get some small runner rugs and lay them on top of the carpeting that is there. That would add some color without you having to go to the hassel of painting, and the rugs would go with you when you moved. I would also put something on the walls- pics of the baby?, using simple frames. You could vary the heights of the pics to add some interest. I hope everyone in your family is safe and stays safe!...See MoreHallway decor help!
Comments (0)I posted awhile back about the alcove at the end of my hallway, and with the help of the nice people on here, that is looking great. Side note- I do still need to replace the ceiling light. The problem is I now have the rest of the hallway. Do I move the picture to the center (ooops!) and leave it as is? Or do I center the picture and get a skinny black table for under the picture? Or...??? I'm open to suggestions! Thank you!!!...See MoreHallway decorating ideas needed!
Comments (6)Your hallway lighting def needs to be changed, it looks yellowy which contributes to the darkness. Semi flush LEDs or even those wafer (easy to install) ’recessed’ lights will for sure bring a brightness and life up there. A wallpaper (cant tell your style) at the top of the stairs with maybe a coordinating color for the rest of the hall. Maybe larger more colorful art would be a good idea. I feel like the hallways in our homes are not a priority when decorating but can be a good spot to try new things. But I think you should start with lighting in the 3500k range w a dimmer....See MoreHelp decorating a long hallway.
Comments (2)I need to mention that the other side of the hallway leads to the kitchen/living room....See MoreRina
