An Aloe of some sort ... one that could use significantly more light, too.

The leaves appear to have tubercules on their surfaces, not something Aloe vera has. Aloe vera has marginal teeth but not surface tubercules. Could be a different Aloe. Does need more light, though. Put by window, not on counter.

Hey everyone..Thanks for all your help. IT just so happens that it is a cactus from Brazil and I guess hard to find around my parts. I had to call the place from where I originally got it and the owner was finally there. He told me there is no mother plant around and when I bought it is was the only one available for purchase...This thing is just so pretty in bloom and so easy to care for..I love it! You can cut it way back and it come back strong with thicker trunks! Here's a link explaining what the plant is...I am so excited to have finally found out!
