The rug should be big enough to slip under the front 1/3 - 1/2 of the sectional and extend past the right and left ends of it by a foot or more. Use blue painter's tape on the floor to tape that out, then measure and buy a rug in the closest size to what your taped rug measures.

Have TV wires and TV box on bottom shelf of it. Can I just get a taller lamp? Was going to move sewing box somewhere else. Can't put three seats facing TV/fireplace. The TV used to be on wall where the rocker is now but I moved TV over the fireplace to make a reading nook. There is a "walkway" in front of the rocker in this small family room that goes to the right to stairs, living and dining area. The family room area is small and broken up by that area that needs to be kept clear. I had two couches before and they were too big. Regular one was under window and loveseat was where small part of sectional is now. Arms overlapped. Maybe I should have gotten different sectional configuration. Just two seats and two seats? Just bought this one :( Moved here 5 yearsago from larger home, just retired, and trying to decorate bit by bit. I don't have decorating confidence in my purchases but I sort of know what looks good. Also want to get new rocker or glider/recliner because this one hurts my neck - pushes neck out. Not sure what color to get or fabric/leather. I like the lamps you picked out. But maybe white or lighter color shade near sofa, which has a grayish tweedy look. Room is rather dark at night. Do you do online decorating assistance? I have been struggling with what to put on this wall above the couch for years. I previously had a set of 3 abstract water color pictures. What’s your thoughts on this pairing? Link suggestions. Would prefer to keep things neutral so I can change out the pillow colors in the future. Thought about a mirror but everything is so heavy.

Are you okay to put the TV above your fireplace? If concerned about having all the wires dangling down, you can have an electronic "eye" installed at the bottom corner of the TV that to operate your TV components using your existing remotes...i.e., cable box, speaker/sound system, DVD player, etc. They're fairly reasonable and easy to install. Then move your TV cabinet next to the fireplace and add some decorative items (vases, candles, books) on top where the TV currently lives. All the wires would get fed through the wall and into the back of the small cabinet to the components. My husband installed the "eye" on our TV that is above the fireplace. All the wires are fed through the wall to the built-in next to the fireplace. They are completely hidden away. A clean look, no wires hanging down, components hidden away. Next, by moving the TV above the fireplace will free up the space in front of the window. Maybe relocate the loveseat (for now until you get something else) in front of the windows. This will improve traffic flow and help both spaces more open. We have a similar situation between our kitchen and family room area. I've found that keeping that area open makes feels and the foot traffic flow better. We have 2 dogs, 2 adults, 2 kids...lots of feet :)
