Remove hard water stains on dishwasher?

This is after cleaning with white vinegar. After I polish with cleaner (or olive oil), the stains still peek through. Are these hard water stains permanent or can they be removed? Ive tried barkeepers friend, baking soda and other products. Nothing works. Help!

My guess is these are not hard water stains. They could be imperfections in the finish of the metal. If that's the case, nothing you do will fix it.

They are definitely water stains as they were not there when we purchased the dishwasher

Sorry I should have put that in my original message. Thy fingers are faster than thy mind!! :) Alright, I've tried, Bar Keeper's Friend, Comet, CLR, LIme Away, Vinegar, Clorox with Teflon, Anything meant to clean hard water stains. Is there maybe an aluminum specific cleaner out there, maybe for outdoor furniture??? I'm so frustrated!!! Thanks!!

As I recall, glass etching uses an acid. Here in York Haven, PA, our water is loaded with minerals and acids, causing problems. So, the idea is not to use this crap, but rainwater, even that may be too acid and might need treatment. Dale has an excellent idea, the Permatex hand cleaner has "gut", as does Go-Jo, which is also a good short term lubricant. I've found that after dish washing with dirty hands(grime, grease, grit) that my hands end up "squeaky clean" using Dawn or the equivalent, I also use bleach in the dish water - is that ever a powerful cleaner! Some of these so-called "eco" products have little power to really clean... are "too easy" on the hands... But its the very hot water that does the trick...the hotter the better..

So I had done some re-plumbing on my house and installed a water softener loop at the time - meaning it was mostly ready to go. The unit sits on the floor. Many people useflex lines with sharkbite fittings to connect them to make the installation easier. I'm not a huge fan of that... but it does simplify things a lot. You may need some drain hose as well. Look at the photos and read the reviews to see some of the installs on Amazon. There is a photo of my install on there - but know that my install was part of a complete re-do, so don't use that as an example. There are lots of youtube videos on it including putting in the correct settings on the Fleck valve.

I always use Invisible Glass on my stainless steel appliances with great results. Sometimes for more difficult water stains I use the liquid form of BarKeepers Friend. You could use the powder as well, just make sure it's well watered down before applying or it could scratch.

I had one stubborn streak on mine I could not get off. I saw on a message board someone used Scrubbing Bubbles to get marks off theirs so I tried it and by golly it worked. Might be worth a try for you....

You could use CLR. I've had some luck with wetting a sponge with CLR and wiping/rubbing with the grain then rinse the sponge and wipe the front with plain water. Afterwards use a SS polish

They look like water stains but not hard water stains. Try baby oil or WD40.
