New info on pink teen room--Input on this pink please?
Comments (22)Hi everyone. I haven't been on the board for a few days and missed that my thread was up for discussion again! Thanks for all your comments. Jen4268, That is a very pretty room, but SO not what my DD wants. I brought home 2 more sample quarts and slapped them on the walls. Nope--hated them. So, really, who am I to tell her which color with which to surround herself? The room is big enough. It can take the color. DD is a dancer. Loves to be on stage. Almost 13. And a girl whose dream is to live in NYC someday (hence the large framed black and white photo of the Brooklyn Bridge at night that will be going on the wall). I think she wants a rather sophisticated room-maybe this is her image of what a dancer living in NYC would do with her space. But of course my idea of sophisticated and a 13 year olds idea are going to be very different! I think she wants a "cool" teen room, but not in a typical PB Teen way. I agree that it's her space and I don't care whether it "goes" with the rest of my house. But she will be getting the bucket out and repainting if she is sick of it in a year. So deep coral pink walls, white trim. Oh and let's not forget the ballet barre and wall of mirrors either! Magnaverde, I just adore you!...See MoreToddler room color/art
Comments (30)Late update but I was not able to convince my husband that we should paint vs doing touch ups. I did take other people's suggestions and rehang my daughters large painting horizontally. I also grouped the pictures in 3 vs 2. and replaced and rehang the curtain rod so it let's a little more light in. Besides painting I don't know if there is much more I could do? I think a new rug that was lighter and bigger would help. Or maybe layering a larger sheepskin over the current rug?...See MoreNew mum overwhelming by her blue living room. any suggestion please
Comments (20)Totally get your overwhelmed feeling. I once picked out a nice shade of blue that looked way to harsh as well. Maybe your husband dislikes it as much as you do? Maybe he doesn't want to give you the blues, but is inwardly choking on this color too? I would try to find his honest perspective and if he is in doubt too, I would really and sincerely apologize very much indeed. Then I would suggest to go for at least two shades lighter and try it out on a bit of one wall first. And indeed, keeping the lower part in step with the woodwork, I'd paint that all white anyway. Although some given ideas might soften the pain a bit, it will never become what it is supposed to be. Alternatively you could make this the room of your newborn, if he is a son, and move the living room into his bedroom... just kidding ;) At least you'll never fall into this trap again for the rest of your life....See MoreToddler boy room decor
Comments (28)White could work, but maybe you could find something that incorporated that chartreuse color. Do you have any ideas or themes you’re looking towards? I was thinking about that geometrical bedding. It reminds me of a rubix cube or tangram. Maybe you could use something along those lines to decorate the walls. Off the top of my head I’m thinking either framing or gluing some tangrams together to hang. Maybe a poster print from a rubix contest. I’ve also seen framing game boards or the box covers. That could expand your color options too. Tangrams...See Morejodevine
