Wolf 36" L series wall oven under a 36" induction cooktop?
Comments (0)Does anyone have this oven? It looks like it is 3 or 4 inches shorter in height than the 30" wall oven. Since I can't find a 36" induction range, I am considering putting a 36" induction cooktop and this 36" wide Wolf oven underneath it. Would that work? I read that it is not good ergonomically to do this because the oven will be very low, but if this Wolf oven is shorter in height would that help a bit? As in it could be installed a few inches higher off the floor than the 30" one? If I could get a 36" induction range I would not have to consider this alternative. I could do a 36" duel fuel range instead, but I wanted to change to induction over gas. Related to this question - are any companies making/going to make a 36" induction range? I really need the extra room on the cooktop part....See MoreGE Monogram wall oven under Induction Cooktop
Comments (10)Thanks for the response. I understand that you have to have 4" clearance between the two but where the clearance is measured from is what we are unsure of. I don't have the oven yet, so if it's square that question won't matter it will be the same. I'm trying to measure the front of the cabinet where we can't seem to get 4" with a standard cabinet. He is telling me we have a 4" toekick + a 3/4" base + a 28" cutout from the ground up which does not leave 4" to the top of the countertop. He is thinking once installed we would have 4" in between them inside the cabinet if we only have 3 1/4" on the face of the cabinet. I'm thinking the only option is to lower the cabinet base to level with the toekick instead of on top of it. That will give us an extra 3/4 that we need. But that means no overhang on that cabinet. He isn't sure how that will look and wanted me to try and find a picture. If you can, could you see if your oven is sitting on top of the cabinet base that is level with the bottom of all the other cabinets or is sitting lower then the other cabinet bases? Thank you....See MoreWall oven mounted under cooktop?? Anybody have this? Too low?
Comments (26)Something no one has mentioned yet....wall ovens, regardless of placement, generally vent out the front. Ovens in ranges vent out the top. (1) How is it to stand in front of an undercounter mounted wall oven while cooking (when under a cooktop)? I would think the hot vented air would be an issue.... (2) Someone mentioned venting...if it vents out the front, your vent hood is not going to do you much good unless it sticks out at least 3 inches beyond the front of the oven (which puts it 3" beyond the countertop). Even then, if you're standing in front of it (to cook), it's probably still not much good. Just more things to think about!...See MoreOven under induction cooktop or under the counter
Comments (5)Either setup can work and I would choose the best based on function, not form. One thing you should be aware of is that you have to respect the required clearances between the oven and cooktop, which means an oven under a cooktop will likely be lower to the ground than an range oven is. Although it may be okay to lift something off the oven's rack, you'll likely find that having a (hot) door that pretty much opens onto the floor is an annoyance. Another consideration is whether or not you prefer to stand in front of an oven that is venting warm air onto you while you are tending to a cooktop....See MoreBuehl
